The flow of blog posts has been low recently, and here are my top excuses.
It’s never a great way to start the day with your normally dependable ride to and from work (and everything in between) stuttering and eventually stalling roadside. Really, it’s a crappy way to start the day.
A call for roadside assistance was sent to VIP Towing, and after a 90-minute wait, a VIP tow truck comes ambling towards me. Enter Vince. He pulls up, greets me, apologizes for the wait, and gets to work. After a few minutes, we’re hooked up and on the road. During our ride to the service center, Vince gets to talking and his personality shines. His laid-back demeanor and reassuring nature is what I need during this stressful morning. He talks about loving his job and tells some of his adventures at work.
The ride with Vince really turned the morning around! If you ever need a tow and get VIP Towing, ask (or hope) for Vince. He is the real VIP.
Yay! I’m now a member of the IKEA blue bag club since I now have a Frakta large bag.

This $1 bag is a popular choice for hauling boxes and packages to the post office after making a bunch of eBay sales. Granted I haven’t yet made enough sales to actually fill the bag, but the bag is available when that day comes!
Thanks to the running Gaye-sha for this sought after pickup.
Relatedly, did you see Balenciaga’s similar looking bag that costs $2145?!?
I’ve loved the speed of the free Google Starbucks Wi-Fi service available at most Starbucks locations, but this “feature” looks new.

Since when did the Google Starbucks Wi-Fi service start this authentication system? I’m used to selecting the Wi-Fi network then surfing the Internet.
I’m not really sure how this works as well. At a different location, I didn’t see this screen, but I still had to pick the network (same behavior as before). More of a security measure?
Can you tell I’ve bee preoccupied this March Madness? Instead of watching all the upsets and craziness that is the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament, I’ve been curating the Pulpconnection store on eBay. So instead of doing the full series of Kicks Analysis for 2018, I begin and end with the championship that belongs to Villanova.
But really with Michigan and Villanova facing off in the Finals, Nike had already claimed the 2017-2018 season. The best shoes of the champion game has to be the iconic Air Jordan 11 worn by Michigan’s Moritz Wagner.
Sure there was heat on the floor, but #13 busting out the 11 was straight up fire, even in a losing effort. So that’s 17 in 20 – raising Nike’s championship winning percentage to 85% over the past 20 seasons.
I had thought Pier 1 in Kailua was a perfect match – the right merchandise for the right clientele. But I was wrong.
Bon voyage Pier 1.

It’s been awhile, but I just got denied entrance to yet another store while walking in with a drink. For this instance, the store was Ross at Ala Moana, and I was enjoying my half done Starbucks iced caramel macchiato.
The greeter pointed out the no food or beverage sign on the door.

I asked if there was a holding area for drinks, and she said the trash. Of course, I wasn’t about to trash a $7 drink full of body-infusing caffeine. I faux-ly and incredulously asked if she was serious about no drinks since pretty much every store has that no food or beverage sign but does not enforce it. She replied no drinks… for safety.
Now mind you we’re in the front of the store next to the cash registers which are next to all food and drink items at Ross. But I knew it was a losing battle, so I did leave. But I took a pic of my drink in the store.

It was a matter of time, but Apple’s HomePod music and smart home system is now showing up at Target. It’s still priced at $349 but using the Target REDcard 5% discount is as good as it gets on Apple devices.

If you’re thinking of picking one up in store, I would call the location first and double check inventory. Although online inventory may say in-stock, the stores may not actually have the HomePod available to sell. Units could be processing through the shipping channel.
Apply this saying to your items being sold on eBay:
A watched pot never boils
So stop keeping an obsessive eye out on your items, watchers, and view counts. Buyers will buy when they buy.
But… if you are looking for some kicks, you can check out Pulpconnection on eBay, and I promise I won’t watch your activity (but we can talk discounts). 😉
Let’s hurry this since eBay’s spring promo lasts only for a few more hours (7pm PST). So Pulpconnection’s eBay store is now open! Passions, pulp, and addictions to kicks can be found at:

Take advantage of eBay’s 15% promo by using the code:

I had walked by a restaurant chain and was stopped by this sign.

I guess the sign worked since it was gone a few days later. The cooks must have been acquier-ed.
It’s now official though it seems Ross employees already knew, but a new Ross location is indeed opening at Windward Mall.
