Admiral Ackbar Makes a Good Mascot
Good ole Admiral Ackbar from the Star Wars saga. I think we should use him as a logo/icon for a work project. He’s a perfect fit!
Hey look, you can make a Nintendo Wii character that looks like Ackbar.

Facebook has overtaken Myspace as top online social network. Didn’t see that one coming with Myspace still a popular destination with the younger generation. Perhaps the older generation is getting hip and trying out the social waters via Facebook.
I wonder if Dancing with the Stars head judge, Len Goodman, has a Facebook profile?

Lisa Lisa was all cried out and now, I think I’m all blogged out. Blogging here has been on the decline without a lot of time to devote to pulp, passions, and addictions. Instead maintaining two blogs at work has been the recent focus.
Though I am surprised at the level of transparency that’s coming out of the work blogs – more than I initially expected. So maybe there wasn’t as much purposeful hiding of information rather than the lack of passing along that information. There’s a lot of stuff that goes on and much of it is never relayed or is expected to be delivered through the management chain.
We still have a long ways to go with info sharing at work, but you can see some progress.

Yeah, you’re not completely certain that an online person is who they really say they are. But if you know the person and his personality and quirks, you can kinda tell when things don’t match up. A Facebook friend was showing some unusual behavior, first of which was being on Facebook to begin with.
His profile and added applications just didn’t feel right, and sure enough, he eventually admitted his fake Facebook presence. The moral of the story? None really, other than don’t try to trick people intentionally or not – bad karma.
Didn’t see BO around Kailua today. Went to Longs, but Barack wasn’t there looking through Sunday’s sale ads.
And no, I haven’t yet seen Batman: Dark Knight.
I have to stop looking at pictures of the new Nike Air Max 90 Current. This shoe is hotness, remixing a classic. But does it blend?
Bummer, the embedded video is too wide to display correctly. Click here to go watch what happens when you take sneakers to a blender.
Sad weekend with the passing of Bernie Mac and Isaac Hayes.
Both were bad mother SHUT YOUR MOUTH!
Even though Barack Obama is practically a neighbor (yeah right), there’s been no pulpy Obama sighting around here. Then again, I didn’t make it to the beach for an early morning swim. Nor did I play my usual round of afternoon golf. And darn, Alan Wong’s was completely booked for dinner tonight.
Maybe I’ll go for some shave ice tomorrow…

So Barack Obama is in his hometown and has a hankering for some Zippy’s and shave ice. Where should he go to get his shave ice fix?
Since he’s vacationing on the Windward side, the Obama entourage should go to the mobile Tat’s Shave Ice served from that colorful van. Some of the best local style shave ice around!
The Olympic piano player, Lang Lang, has some of his work online at YouTube. Here he is using an orange to play Chopin.
Crazy skills!
Finished reading Groundswell: Winning in a World Transformed by Social Technologies. Excellent book about tapping social networks (like Facebook, YouTube) and tools (blogs, wikis, etc) and using them to your business’ advantage. Many real world examples included, and the book concludes with chapters about building a groundswell movement within your company (“it’s about relationships, not technology“) and the future of the groundswell.
A great deal for the wealth of information provided.
Up next on the reading list is Web 2.0: A Strategy Guide: Business thinking and strategies behind successful Web 2.0 implementations.
