A Love of the Tabasco Man and LeBron James
No, we’re not talking blinged out Toyota Camrys… Even though LeBron James is a Cleveland native and plays for the hometown Cavaliers, he, like the Tabasco Man, is a fan of the New York Yankees.
So much so that LeBron and Nike worked on this pinstriped colorway of his Air Zoom LeBron V.
Cleveland fans are not thrilled with LeBron’s non-Cleveland affiliations.

Looking for Music Suggestions
When Starbucks had their gift card promotion that included iTunes songs, I stocked up and have some credit for music singles saved up. But these credits expire at the end of February so I’m looking for some fresh songs to buy. What are your suggestions?

Liking Skitch
Don’t know if you noticed, but I’ve started to play around with Skitch for some of Pulpconnection’s images. Skitch is a combination application and web service for “fast and fun image sharing.”
With the Skitch app, you can easily edit images or take screen shots and mark them up with basic drawing tools. With the accompanying web service, you can upload the edited image to Skitch’s web site for sharing, blog embedding, etc.
Skitch is very useful for bloggers, and hey, its heart icon is pretty cool.
Can You Change a Lawn Mower’s Clutch Belt?
While mowing the lawn this past weekend, the clutch belt broke so me and my dad tried to replace it. The owner’s manual included instructions for this task, but they’re absolutely horrible. Just look at the referenced parts diagram (the clutch belt is part #60).
Needless to say, the mower is now in a repair shop.
McLane Mowers should have better instructions and better yet, have some instructional tutorial videos on-line for common maintenance tasks.
No Love for Hawaii Jordan-aires
The limited edition titanium/university blue Air Jordan XX3 drops on Friday, January 23, 2008 at 23 selected retailers, but Jordan lovers in Hawaii will be getting the shaft.
Supposedly these 23 stores were chosen for being Jordan top sellers. I thought a Hawaii location like its Niketown or Ala Moana Footlocker might have an outside chance with its tourist connection and the local kicks fan base. I guess not.
Here’s the geographic breakdown for the lucky 23 locations:

Transformers Is Entertaining
Yes, I haven’t seen a movie (at the theaters or on DVD) for some time now, but thanks to my Vudu box, I got to watch the Transformers. Very entertaining, and not quite what I expected from the battle between the Autobots and the Decepticons.
There were some holes in the story line, but I enjoyed the awesome CGI special effects and the performance of Shia LaBeouf. The sequence where Shia was looking for his great grandfather’s glasses as the Autobots hurried him on was funny. The ending was okay if not expected.
Some random thoughts. How come those covert Sector Seven guys didn’t know about Sam Witwicky and his link to his great grandfather? It was hard to keep track of the good and bad Transformers during the fast paced action. I hear the second Transformers is already in the works since this first movie was left open ended with the escape of Starscream(?).
The audio and video from the Vudu box was great. Picture was clear in widescreen format and the sounds from my favorite Polk Audio setup had just the right balance of highs and bass thumping lows. The Transformers sound track is decent featuring some great artists like Linkin Park, Smashing Pumpkins, and the Goo Goo Dolls. Linkin Park’s What I’ve Done playing during Bumblebee’s wild shooting attack was a welcomed surprise.
Who would’ve thought that Eeyore from Disney’s My Friends Tigger and Pooh is also the leader of the Autobots? I thought the voice of Optimus Prime sounded familiar and sure enough Peter Cullen is the voice of Prime and dopey Eeyore (and many other cartoon characters).
I’d highly recommend watching the Transformers and now there’s so many options. You can:

Review: Vudu Movie Service (Part 5: The Final Installment)
I purposely waited until Macworld Expo for the final installment of my Vudu movie service review. After rumored and now confirmed movie rentals available in the iTunes Store and on the AppleTV, the online movie landscape has drastically changed. Vudu has a great idea and is fairly easy to set up. It’s a very convenient service but has some bad and ugly points.
Unfortunately for Vudu, the second rendition of the AppleTV attacks Vudu’s weaknesses. I complained that movies on Vudu stay on Vudu. Not so with AppleTV where you can move content to your Mac, your PC, your iPod, or iPhone. AppleTV continues to tap into other content sources like your iTunes, iMovies, and iPhoto and also displays online content from YouTube and Flickr.
A lustery black Vudu box goes for $399 and $999 for the HD focused XL model. The alpine white AppleTV goes for $229 for a 40-GB model and $329 for 160 GB.
Then there are the intangibles benefitting Apple. Like the sprawling iTunes ecosystem where you can find iTunes gift cards just about anywhere. With Vudu, your own credit card transactions are the only way to go. You can’t receive gifted movies or capitalize on discounts with Vudu.
And the relationships. Do you care or know which movies belong to the various movie studios? Me neither. Steve Job understands this and has forged relationships with all the major studios so your favorite movies are available in iTunes and AppleTV. These relationships are also how some DVD discs now include digital versions of the movie for immediate playback.
So while I think Vudu is still a good service, very recent announcements by Apple might lead to the downfall of Vudu.

NG Tube Feeding Is Traumatic
Using an NG tube to feed an infant is pretty traumatic, both for the infant and family members. Inserting the tube is the worst part and keeping the tube away from prying hands is tough.
How long does this have to go on? We’re only on day one.

Remember Duane “Dog” Chapman? It hasn’t been that long since his brotherly downfall. I never paid attention to where his bail bonds office was but happened to drive past it the other day.
