What’s a Dirty DVD?

Just having fun with family members after a botched gift. My sister-in-law created a homemade DVD for her husband but had problems playing the DVD+RW burned disc in a home DVD player. She called me for tech support saying that the DVD player kept showing the message “disc is dirty.”

At that point, I politely said that I didn’t want to get involved in adult affairs between her and her husband captured on her “dirty” DVD.

When I first brought up her work, the bosses were puzzled. Then as they understood, they were convinced and defended her work against questions by other management staff. Was fun to see.

Losing It

Noticed I’ve been losing it over the past few weeks. Forgetting all kinds of stuff, reading emails but forgetting to act on them. Letting things slip through the cracks.

Nakedness and Coffee?

How do you educate coffee drinkers about the qualities of pure Kona coffee? You’d get naked and pimpstrong a calendar of your nakedness of course. In the “Naked Truth,” female Kona coffee farmers tastefully show off coffee farming activities in a monthly calendar in order to promote the truth of labeling Kona coffee.

The calendar is available from the Kona Coffee Farmers Association web site and goes for $12. Just imagine the likes of Jessica Alba, Jessica Simpson, Grace Park from Battlestar Galactica, Scarlett Johansson, Jessica Biel, Elisha Cuthbert farming coffee in the buff. Only imagine they’re all in their 50’s. And imagine that none of these stars are in this calendar. Oh well… still a good cause and conversation piece.

Apple’s Back to School Special is Touchy!

Egads! Apple just announced their annual Back to School special where you buy a qualifying Mac and get big discounts or a free iPod. This year, Apple is covering the $299 cost of an 8-GB iPod Touch! You can also apply the discount to a Nano or bigger capacity Touch, but getting the “low end” Touch for free is way cool. Buy a MacBook for $999 and get a $299 Touch for free – sounds like a winning deal.

Looking to upgrade your current Mac? A family member interested in going Mac? Now’s a good time to buy where you can barter your Mac expertise and consultation into a iPod Touch or Nano. What would your parents do with an iPod anyways? 😉

I guess this blowout also means new Touches are on their way. Promotion runs from June 3, 2008 through September 15, 2008.

Where Does the Time Go?

Just where does the time go? I haven’t posted in a few days! That used to be unheard of, trying to post 2-3 times a day. That ratio has long since been busted, and I can see a direct correlation with the drop in number of visitors.

Still though Pulpconnection just passed the 90,000 visitor mark, and we’re headed to 100,000! There’s got to be a contest giveaway in there somewhere, but what?!

And not that this blog needs it, but I also signed up with another advertiser/affiliate program. Since I like to pimp out my passions and addictions, I applied to be an affiliate for Tivo. I doubt I’d get any Tivo sales from my visitors (hint, hint Tabasco Man), but you never know when the Tivo can come in handy. Like when you need to record the 10th Annual Lantern Floating in Hawaii then make DVDs from this recording.
