I’ve been hearing some rumblings about a book and DVD called “The Secret
From what little I know, “The Secret” is a self help book focusing on positive thinking. Anyone care to enlighten me on what is “The Secret” or why it’s so great?
A very interesting move the Sci-Fi Channel has taken by allowing fans to create their own BSG video with video clips, music, and sound effects used in the show itself. The only catch is you need to include the provided ending clip that promotes this BSG Videomaker Toolkit.

Even with a medical second opinion and some non-professional advice, Dwyane Wade is going to attempt a comeback this NBA season. While I still disagree with his decision, as a young player still playing with passion, I understand his drive to get back in the game.
But then again, he will be having surgery in the off season which will most likely cause him to miss the start of next season. So why not start prepping for next year already? I wonder if the Heat thinks this is the best shot they got at winning a championship with their aging team? Even with a declining Shaq and non-productive Antoine Walker, the Heat are still better than teams in the East.
When DWade does return, I’ll be interested to see how his play changes. Will he still attack the rim or settle for outside jumpers? Will the Heat basic game plan of relying on Shaq and the crew for three quarters then letting the Flash take over the fourth still work?
Will Dwyane Wade still be Dwyane Wade on the court?

Fortune Magazine announced their 2007 list of America’s Most Admired Companies, and the Top 20 has some personal notables. General Electric tops the list this year. Even with a diluted experience, Starbucks comes in at number 2 followed by Toyota at number 3. Apple and Google come in at the seventh and eighth spots. Microsoft is number 12. Costco is at 18 and Pepsi and Wal-Mart tied for the 19/20 spot.
I thought Google treated its employees well but the search engine giant came in at number 3 for People Management, beat out by FedEx (#1) and Procter & Gamble (#2).
In the field of Innovation, Apple led the way (and this is before the release of the iPhone!). Google was second, Nike in fifth place, and Starbucks rounding out the top 10.
Not surprisingly, Hawaii had no companies in the Most Admired List with Alexander & Baldwin getting a Contender status. California had top honors followed by New York and Texas. Other states with zero companies on the list are Alaska, Idaho, Louisiana, Maine, Mississippi, Montana, New Mexico, North Dakota, South Dakota, Utah, Vermont, West Virginia, and Wyoming. Hey aren’t most of these states members of the Western Athletic Conference (WAC)??

An interesting opinion that Starbucks has grown too big for its own good. With SBUX stores popping up all over the place, the experience of going to a Starbucks has been getting diluted.
I first noticed something like this when going to a Starbucks at an airport (forget which one though). After a long plane ride (is there such a thing as a short plane ride?), I was glad to see the familiar green logo in the airport. When ordering though, instead of grinding the beans and packing it in the espresso maker, the barista simply pushed a button on an automatic espresso machine that started dispensing espresso for my drink. Speedy yes, but not quite the same you know what I mean?
It feels like the automatic machine takes away the expertise of the barista allowing anyone to make espresso shots. A barista out sick today? Go grab the janitor, stick a green apron on him, and have him push the “make espresso” button. I don’t know what kind of training Starbucks baristas get, but I’m sure it’s more than simply pushing a button.
Don’t know if it’s cuz I ran out of supplements, don’t take enough vitamin C, or don’t do enough positive thinking, but I’m out sick today…
The comments feed for Blogger blogs is working again… sorta. Using the default feed works fine.
But the default Hackosphere method of using feeds in a JSON format doesn’t work. You can use the ‘start-index=2&’ hack, but you miss the most recent comment. I don’t know why this works now since it didn’t work before, but instead of using a start-index of 2, you can use ‘start-index=1&‘ and the Hackosphere code works fine.

Blogger’s recent problem with non-updating comment feeds is still there, but there’s a small hack that is better than nothing.
This ‘?start-index=2’ hack also works for modified comment feeds from Hackosphere and Beautiful Beta.
