The Cutting Crew sing the classic 80’s song (I Just) Died In Your Arms where everyone thinks they can nail that first line.
Oh I, I just died in your arms tonight
But it’s not just “Oh,” it’s more like “o-AH!” You know what I mean. If you don’t, here’s how it goes.
Want a remixed techno version? Go check out iTunes and listen to Leana’s rendition, especially the Eric Kupper Radio Mix.
o-AH!

With some time off recently, I got the chance to catch up with Season 3 of Bravo’s Top Chef. I completely missed Season 2 of the series where chefs go through various, entertaining, and tough challenges to be named Top Chef.
Season 3 is only 5 episodes in so if you haven’t watched before, it’s easy to catch up. I got no cooking skills whatsoever except to nuke some Sapporo Ichiban in the microwave, but I still like watching this show. Maybe it’s because of the interesting challenges. Maybe I’m amazed at the all the things the chefs can do with food in a short time. The stuff they make look great, sound great, and I guess tastes great (most of the time). Maybe I like the fancy culinary phrases thrown around the show – ceviche, yuca, blood oranges, and my favorite, amuse bouche. I mean, who wouldn’t want to amuse your bouche?
I still haven’t gotten a good feel for this year’s chefs, but for some reason I like brotherman Tre. He’s got a smooth style about him. Hung is giving the Asian stereotype a bad rap even though he’s talented.
Some other comments. Head Judge Tom Colicchio looks like he’s been eating a little too well. It’s good to see Lee Anne Wong from Season 1 contributing to the show. From what little I’ve read on her Top Chef blog, she’s one of the show’s producers and is responsible for setting up the challenges. Also good to hear from Season 1 winner, Harold Dieterle, who also blogs about each Top Chef episode and still shows Lee Anne some love sending shout outs.
Bravo’s Top Chef web site is impressive if not overwhelming. There’s so much content from episode recaps, blogs, message boards, pictures, recipes, videos, and more. Where to begin?!
Anyways, it’s Wednesday and a new episode airs tonight.
Hawaii’s hottest gentlemen’s club, Club 939, is turning 2 years old. So of course, a party is needed to celebrate continued debauchery! The search is on to find a hostess for this premiere event.
Club 939 is looking for a local female celebrity who would be the emcee for the night. No, that doesn’t mean she’s part of the 939 entertainment. She’s there to keep the partying rolling and bring in the star power.
So Pulp readers, who do you think would make a good hostess for the 939 bash? Make your recommendations now!
I’ll lead it off with my recommendations. I got to steal the Tabasco Man’s thunder and nominate Miss Hawaii, Radasha Hoohuli. Young, in the spotlight, and building a following. But… may not want to be associated with a gentlemen’s club even if merely emceeing a party.
My second choice is Shawnee Hammer, formerly of the I-94 Wake Up Crew, and now a bridal consultant. She’s been on the radio and has her own fashion TV show on OC16, so she got the requisite emcee skills. Bonus would be having husband Gregg Hammer tag along. Though he’s a pro at hosting parties, he wouldn’t have to work but having him at the 939 bash would up its cred. Besides didn’t they both work for 93(.)9 at one time?
My last nomination would be Olena Rubin, another Miss Hawaii. She’s got the in’s, and she’s reachable.

Visiting Niketalk is feeding my addiction to kicks. Not a good thing to feed an addiction. I purposely haven’t been to Niketalk for some time (and haven’t bought new shoes either). But…
Take another look at these new Jordan-inspired P-Rods!
I read about these “J-Rods” last month but after following discussions about them and seeing more pics, I’m entranced!
Gotta stop going to Niketalk… 🙁
Well, well, the frenzy of the iPhone actually did continue throughout its release weekend. Now Apple’s iPhone Availability web site is showing both the Ala Moana and Kahala Apple Stores as being sold out of iPhones.
I wonder if the iPhone was an island wide sell out?

Though I thought the iPhone would sell out over its release weekend, as of Saturday night, iPhones were still available at both Apple Stores in Hawaii. This according to Apple’s iPhone availability system.
Some AT&T stores sold out, but there’s still a day to go to see if the iPhone can indeed sell out statewide.
As the last place for iPhones to go on sale, news of the iPhone frenzy is all over the media. Because of sell outs in other states, could hoarding iPhones in Hawaii be occurring?
True, true, purchases at the Apple Stores are limited to 2 per person, but it seems as those in line at the Ala Moana Apple Store may be buying two iPhones each just because! eBay has their fair share of iPhone resells with typically prices hovering around $1000.
Coverage of the Hawaii iPhones sales will be on at least KHNL and KITV with crews already there. Good thing HPD is on the scene providing security against microphone thieves!

While flipping through a magazine, there was an article about classic, timeless toys. And guess what was on the list? None other than Mr. Potato Head!
But unlike the unchanged appearance of the Corn Popper, Mr. Potato Head has gone through some changes over the years. Check it out, the spud was a smoker! Now, he’s a robotic Transformer!
Lots of new choice kicks coming out to choose from.
New colorway of LeBron Zoom Soldier
P-Rod 2 Elephant Print. Going back to the serious MJ influences like the original “J-Rods.” Elephant print is money!
Do I need any of these? Of course not, but do I want’em all? You betcha!
