Chuckling at the Jabra Solemate
Yeah, I’m a lover of kicks aka sneakers but even with this penchant, I have to question and chuckle at the design of the Jabra Solemate portable speaker. According to reviews, this small unit is tough and can deliver the tunes. But with its ridged base, well, this speaker looks like a shoe or a boot – interesting but not necessarily advancing the fashion trend. The ridged sole is functional, hiding an audio cable.
Although the Solemate looks funky (even to this shoehead), it’s gotten good reviews for its price point. So if you’re not swimming in the million$, be sure to give the Solemate a listen (and a chuckle).
Butter… Then and Now
My how butter has changed over the years. Take a look at this crock pot made for Kaukauna Klub butter. While it sounds Hawaiian, Kaukauna is from the the South Kaukauna Dairy Company in Kaukauna, Wisconsin! We found this sturdy clay crock while rummaging through old stuff and is dated 1933.

Interestingly, that Kaukauna Klub name is kinda weird if you ask me. Just alliteration or is there more to the string of KkK?
Today’s “butter” looks something like this…

You spread this body butter on your skin for the “ultimate sexy sensation.”

Which butter do you prefer?
Hostess’ Last Stand
I have seen with my very own eyes a lost American icony. Yes, I am talking about Hostess-made treats, specifically Hostess Cupcakes, unopened, in mint condition, with the expiration date good until mid-February. I have not seen Hostess treats in a big box since the days of plenty.
Where was this rarity discovered? In Guam. And brought back to the Hawaiian Islands unscathed. Miraculous!
Was That a Moving Pick?
It’s the NBA so it’s okay if picks and screens shift around a tad. But really, the magic is the finish by James Harden.
Though you have to give it to your teammates who do the dirty work like setting screens.
My Third Tweet
I finally got the option to download all my tweets as an archive and looked through the early days. Here is my third ever tweet.

— Gee Why (@geewhy) June 11, 2007
Yeah, that’s some riveting stuff there I tell you. For all of 2007, I posted 33 tweets, 23 of which were in my first month of use (June 2007).
These Are Not Girlfriends of Manti Te’o
No, these women are not Manti Te’o’s girlfriends (fake or otherwise), but you can meet them on Wednesday, January 30, at Hawaii’s hottest gentlemen’s club and pick up a 2013 calendar.

Will You Be “Kaepernicking” During the Superbowl?
On Superbowl Sunday, will you be Kaepernicking the scores of the San Francisco 49ers? What’s Kaepernicking? Strike this pose after a touchdown, and you’re Kaepernicking.

Get the “Full” Starbucks Experience at Home
The full Starbucks experience extends beyond just the coffee. Sure, Starbucks triggers all your senses with coffee, but the ordering and delivery of your coffee is also part of the experience. Saturday Night Live spoofs this aspect by poking fun at an “enhanced” version of the home brewing Verismo. Apparently, you don’t need to be a wise guy with your name.
At the Coach Outlet
I think I’ve only been inside the Coach Outlet at Waikele once or twice since they’ve been in business, so I didn’t know what to expect. I found some interesting things.
Overall, I was flabbergasted by the prices. I expected expensive handbags and wallets but was blown away by the cost of the accessories. How much better can a $60 umbrella protect you from rain? A basic iPhone case on sale for $48?! And it’s only for the older iPhone 4/4S, not the newer 5. What costs more, a colorful hat or a pair of mittens with a leather strap? It’s a trick question; they cost the same at nearly $100 each! I need to get that fur lined hat – just because everyone in Hawaii needs one in his wardrobe.
Okay, the store’s interior is great. It’s clean, sleek, spacious, organized well, and very bright. I have to give kudos to the store’s “deejay.” I loved all the upbeat songs played which (I think) helps get people in the buying mindset. I had never heard of Surfer Blood or I Blame Coco before, but listen to these songs to convince yourself you need that $60 umbrella.

Even Spoons Get Tired
Seemingly even spoons get tired and need a rest every now and then. I’m guessing that’s why products like this exist, Tumbleweed Spoon Rest.
