Cruising with Coldplay’s Clocks
I might have mentioned this before, but Coldplay’s Clocks is a great cruising song. While you’re driving on the freeway, blast Clocks on your stereo and enjoy.

The FIBA Americas tournament brought an unexpected surprise with the sighting of former UH basketball gunner, Carl English. English and the Canadian squad got pounded by Team USA 113 to 63, but now we all know English is still in the game.
Here’s a pic of English as LeBron goes for an uncontested shot.

Here’s English taking an off-balance jumper with STAT closing in fast. I didn’t see this shot attempt, but it looks like STAT’s about to swat it away.

Hmmm, no wonder Canada lost by 50.

Is it me or has the past couple of weeks been slow on bloggable material? With this extra time and reminded by the Angry Asian Girl, I played around with a WordPress version of Pulpconnection.
There’s still a lot of work to do, but I like the Vertigo theme as a starting point. I was experimenting with the theme Subtle, but it has so many features and is complicated to edit for a WP newbie. Vertigo is pretty straightforward and therefore easy to modify.
We’ll see if I ever cut over Pulpconnection to a WordPress version…
The Restaurant Wars rematch on Top Chef gave Restaurant April and Quatre (formerly the Garage) a chance to fix their miscues. While both teams showed vast improvements, Quatre really had their act together becoming the victorious Bad News Bears.
For the team’s success, Quatre’s executive chef, Sara M, won her first Elimination Challenge. This meant that April’s executive chef was to blame for their loss. Sad to say but Tre packed his knives at the end of the show. He was my early pick to be this season’s Top Chef. 🙁
It was good to see former Chef contestants. Stephen from Season One is still Stephen. Joey and Sara made a short appearance but Hung forget about them already. I think Judge Padma has the best expression for bad tasting dishes. Looks like she’s in absolute pain when dishes aren’t at their finest. I wonder what these dishes would taste like for you or me. You think we could tell how good or how bad the food is?
Saw a new flavor of Mountain Dew, Game Fuel, at the store and couldn’t resist a new variety of caffeine. Game Fuel is a “Dew with an invigorating blast of citrus cherry flavor,” and this is my live blogging of my first taste.
1:54:10 Ready for an afternoon caffeine hit.
1:55:06 Took a picture using Photo Booth
1:55:20 Took 2 sips…
1:55:50 Reminds me of a flat cherry 7-Eleven slurpee
1:56:40 Trying to decide if I like the drink. Took several more sips
1:58:08 Decided Game Fuel is okay but prefer the original Dew
1:58:10 Liveblogging is now over. Thanks for tuning in!

Have you ever watched the Food Network show called the Ace of Cakes? It’s a show about the cake-specialty bakery called Charm City Cakes that makes radical cakes. Their creations are unreal, but the best part of the show is watching their staff work together.
Not only do they have to conceptualize each cake but they work as a team to build a mind-blowing cake. And the entire time, they’re having the times of their lives! What a way to work!
I’m not sure when this show airs, but you can catch frequent repeats on Oceanic Ch. 60 throughout the week. So if you’re channel surfing, check out Duff and the crew of Charm City Cakes.
I’ve had a slight suspicion about this for some time, but now I’m more sure that the Tabasco Man is secretly freaky deaky. What tipped me off to this fact?
Before I start, I must admit that the Tabasco Man is still a cool cat but just freaky. No harm, no foul.
Back to the story… the Tabasco Man was gracious enough to give me a rundown and tour of his new project. One of the first things he points out is his long pole. Yes, the Tabasco Man is now responsible for this huge, erect monstrosity, and it proudly stands there for everyone to see. Then he shows me this tunnel he does his work in. He goes in and out, in and out of that tunnel again and again throughout the entire day. And boy, let me tell you, when the Tabasco Man goes to work, he goes deep. Deep into that tunnel and when he exits, he checks out his long pole.
Now then if his chosen work environment doesn’t scream freaky deaky then I don’t know what would! Tabasco Man, you are busted!
At work, someone has a new 2008 Toyota Highlander Limited edition parked in the lot. Very nice!
This Limited edition I saw is a pearly white, kind of iridescent like the paint Lexus would use. The roof rack wasn’t the plain old black color but silver-ish that matched the styling of the white exterior. The rims were aggressive looking and not too pansy like some of the recent Highlander rims. I didn’t get a chance to look at the interior.
Elements Spa and Salon celebrated its second year anniversary and was featured in this weekend’s Star Bulletin about small businesses surviving in the big-box world.
Okay, okay, I must admit. When I first saw the accompanying photo for the article, I first though the gay and lesbian community must be proud of the progressive stance of the owners of Elements Hawaii – two accomplished professionals giving up their legal careers to follow their passion and also start a family! Oh wait, the picture isn’t for same sex parenthood! 😉

What can I say, the fam likes to poke fun at each other. Did you see the pranks that happen at Christmas?
Anyways, wishing Elements Hawaii continued success.
Here’s a rundown of Pulpconnection posts about Elements Hawaii over the past two years:

While I haven’t yet gotten my hands on iLife ’08, there are a lot of reviews coming out. While I initially liked the feature description of iMovie ’08, namely the management of movie assets, David Pogue has a horror story of what ISN’T in iMovie ’08.
Looks like all the features I use to spiffy up videos are no longer available. No timeline?? Reduced audio editing?? Gadzooks!
Apple should just spin off iMovie ’08 into another application specific for movie asset management or better yet fold together the new iMovie and the old iMovie.
you drive to work and instead of hearing continual updates about the hurricane, the Wake-Up Crew on 93.9 is doing their usual Wild Wahine Wednesday. This morning’s episode featured Noli, Brandon, and Craig who supposedly earns $7000 a day! He didn’t say what line of business he was in though. Hmmmm…
Forgot the Wild Wahine’s name, but she kept talking about the size of her boobs.
And, oh yeah, Krey-Z Oshiro now owns Kelsey’s Baby Specialties. He said they lowered prices throughout the store, and they needed to cuz their stuff was expensive compared to USA Baby and Baby Emporium. Now if they can only remodel and give the store a facelift.
