That’s Some School Spirit!
Saw this on the news this morning about a Southern Illinois “Salukis” cheerleader who fell off a pyramid formation and suffered a concussion and a cracked neck vertebra.
While being wheeled off the court on a stretcher, she started doing her cheerleading moves as the SIU band played their fight song for their fallen cheerleader. What school spirit! I woulda thought the medical techs would tell her to stop moving.
Seems like the cheerleader, Kristi Yamaoka, will be okay. (She doesn’t look like a Yamaoka).
Here’s a link to the video.
Why You Should Use RSS
A light article about why you should use RSS. I’ve been using RSS feeds for some time now and only recently have gotten over the habit of checking my usual web sites once or twice a day. Now, I simply refresh my RSS feeds and look at the updated/changed headlines. If anything looks interesting, I’ll click on the RSS headline to view a caption of the article. If the short caption sounds interesting, then I’ll follow the link to the actual site.
Using RSS is a definite time saver, but it took me some time to kick the habit of visiting sites just because. I currently have about 30 feeds I subscribe to and using RSS makes it easy (and fast).

Happy Birthday Shaq
Happy Birthday to Shaquille O’Neal, the Heat bigman! 34 years old, playing a game for a living and making millions of dollars. What a life!
To celebrate, everyone should go out to their local Payless shoe store and pick up a pair of Shaq’s Dunkman “The Game Shoe V6.2.” Just released at the NBA All Star Game, you can’t beat the price of $40.
I always think Shaq’s birthday is on March 7, but it’s on the 6th. Oh well, Happy Belated!

More on Deal or No Deal

See, the game show Deal or No Deal is stupid. I watched another hour of the show and came to the same conclusion.
Did you see that guy go away with $25,000 instead of $50,000 or taking the deal for $38,000? The best move was when Howie offered the dude the chance to switch cases. His cheering audience quieted quickly after the guy picked a few suitcases that eliminated the big dollar values. Stupid, I say. The current contestant should just take any deal she can and walk away. She ain’t got nothing.
The stupidity continues again Friday.

Deal or No Deal is Stupid

On Friday, I came across the new game show Deal or No Deal on NBC. This game is purely based on luck. No skill or strategy needed to play. What a stupid game! And the models that open the suitcases, what the heck?
After watching for one hour, yelling at the contestants to take the deal and leave with some money and self respect, I still think this show is stupid. Just in case, I have to verify that fact tonight when the show is on and again on Friday night. Stupid show, where’d the time go?

Google Interview Questions
This dude posted some of his preliminary interview questions with Google. Man, I’d suck big time answering these questions!
After sitting in on a few interviews and thinking about them after the fact, I always wondered how you can find the real talent. Everyone looks good enough on paper and seems okay in an hour interview. I guess you got to ask tough questions (like Google) to find the real gems.

Baby Teether Recall
Awhile back, I saw a safety recall for a baby teether made by The First Years. We had the Disney Soft Cool Ring Teether so we sent it back as instructed. A few days ago, we got a package in the mail that had a letter of apology, a replacement teether, and an action ring as a special gift.

Good customer service! (unlike these guys).

Kicks Becoming Mainstream
The March 3, 2006 issue of the Honolulu Advertiser had an article about Hot kicks for men and how modern day shoes rule footwear fashion. The best quote from the article:
Shoes are everything. You can be wearing the coolest shirt and pants, but if you’re wearing bad shoes, you’re in trouble. Everyone remembers crappy shoes.
You won’t have crappy shoes if you order yourself some of these custom kicks.

Book Buy for Work Coming Real Soon
Didn’t get a chance to send out an email yet, but planning on doing another book buy this month. It’s been about six months since the last buy. Folks may want to learn up on new technologies or developments or gain some new skills for new projects.
Anyways, keep a look out for an announcement in email and get your Amazon list ready. Maybe I can use Amazon’s Wish List or Gift function to make things easer?
