Blondes Are Hip
It’s official, the Starbucks Blonde Roast is officially hip with this picture making Hipster.com’s popular page.
I wasn’t too happy with the results of the picture, but oh well. I took this picture after getting my free sample of the Blonde Veranda Blend by participating in Starbucks’s coffee tasting. Outside, the morning sun was yellowing the sky, making it look kinda blonde-ish. So I framed the Blonde Roast, Starbucks, and the dim morning light. It was still pretty dark outside so the picture turned out dark and grainy. But like I said, oh well. 🙂
Playboy Getting Badass at Club 939
We’re talking about Club 939 and Playboy so obviously an NSFW warning is warranted.
Imagine a television show highlighting a bevy of Bunnies, their bums bared, partaking in extreme sports. That’s badass, as in Playboy TV’s BADASS, and the latest season starts off in Hawaii:
Sure the Big Island may look like a relaxing paradise, but beyond the sandy beaches and Mai Tais lurk some insanely dangerous obstacles. Wait’ll you see one of our gorgeous thrillseekers jump topless from a 30 foot cliff! Or break out the boards for some ridiculously rough curls! And don’t even get us started on the shark stuff.
Would you want to meet the cast of BADASS? It’s simple really. Head on over to Club 939 and be an (unpaid) extra for on-location filming. All you gotta do is act like a regular (badass) customer. Who knows what the Playmates of BADASS will be doing at the Club, not skydiving of course.

Nike+ “Make It Count”
So what is Nike’s surprise connected to #makeitcount on 1/19/2012? Will the Nike+ program get an entire revamp? I do think the Nike+ mobile app needs to go beyond walking and running activities. Keeping track of various kinds of physical activity would extend its reach although I don’t know how it’ll track Kevin Durant’s exertion on the court.
Anyways, we’ll find out today.
Evangeline Lilly Delayed My Appointment
You remember this scene from LOST?
That’s one of the memories that jogged in my head as I sat down and stared at a familiar face a few seats away – the face of Evangeline Lilly. Couldn’t be, right? Did she come back to Hawaii? LOST ended a few years back and Ms. Lilly’s filming The Hobbit in New Zealand, right?
Well, she did live in the area during LOST and random encounters are definitely possible. Witness my run-ins with Henry Ian Cusick, Jorge Garcia (once, twice, thrice, four times!), and Naveen Andrews. So anything can happen.
I no bulai on this one, Evangeline Lilly is back in Hawaii. The staff showered their VIP with extra attention causing quite a backlog of appointments. So yeah, my 20 minute appointment ended about one hour after checking in. I didn’t mind the delay although a picture with Ms. Lilly woulda been cool.
