Starbucks Went Big, Long, and Thick
As far as I know Starbucks still has those faulty plastic lids that squeeze your straw so you can’t actually drink your drink. Instead of fixing the lid, you know what Starbucks is doing?
They’re passing out the bigger, longer, and thicker straw typically used for venti sized drinks. With this monster, you can push through the tight fit and get the goods. Only thing is the straw is like twice as tall as your drink.
iTiVo Under Active Development
After finding iTiVo to fetch recorded shows to my Mac, I’ve been using it more than Roxio’s Tivo Transfer. And better yet, iTiVo is under active development going from version 1.4 to 1.5 and now to 1.6 in a matter of weeks.

Burned by Western Digital Drives Again?
Did my Western Digital external MyBook fail? That would add to the number of failed WD drives I’ve encountered over the years. Only brand of drive I’ve had this many issues with. Time to switch to another hard drive brand…
Update: Oh wait, looks like it’s the power adapter/supply that’s failed. The same failed model power supply is available at the Western Digital online store for $14.
The Apple Family Is Complete
With this, I think the Apple family is now complete.
The AppleTV joined the other Apple goodies like the Mac, MacBook, iPod, and iPhone. Hmmm, does the Mini count as an unique Apple device?
So far, I’m liking the AppleTV to access my music, movies, and pictures stored on my Mac. So much more convenient to watch movies and view pictures on the living room television. I might switch over to Boxee, but for now, I’ll roll with the goodness of the AppleTV.
Feeding the Animals at the Honolulu Zoo
Did you know you can arrange a behind-the-scenes feeding of animals at the Honolulu Zoo? I don’t know how much it costs, but if you have a function at the zoo (like a child’s birthday party), it’s something to look into.
You go in a back area away from the public and get to pet and feed a rhino and giraffes. The Zoo guide also gives a mini tour and explains various facts of the animals in the zoo.
Here are some closeup pictures feeding the rhino and giraffes.
And yeah, the turtles/tortoises were at it again.
Trip to Yogurtland
Wow, even more pictures I didn’t blog about. Went to Yogurtland in Manoa for the first time a few weeks ago. Heard repeated rave reviews, so I was looking forward to this venture. It was okay.
The variety of yogurts is impressive with all kinds of flavors. The crowds were there, and that dinky sample cup is a joke. It’s so easy to go overboard and load up with the toppings as well. I think we paid about $11 for two yogurts. Fun and interesting but I don’t have to go back again.

Pick a Lane!
Speaking of traffic, I forgot that I snapped this pic while enduring an accident near the H3 tunnels.
The warning signs told motorists that the right lane was closed ahead, but for whatever reason, this driver decided to drive in the middle of both lanes for a long distance, blocking the flow of already congested traffic. Pick a lane!

It Snows Every Hour at Windward Mall
Windward Mall continues its resurrection, now featuring snow this Holiday season. At every hour, artificial snow aka soap bubbles falls in the center court for 15 minutes. It’s kinda neat and the kids like it.

You already know Amazon has great deals but now you get a bonus! If you spend $25 or more on qualifying CDs or electronic items, you’ll get $5 credit to spend in Amazon’s MP3 store.
$5 doesn’t seem like a lot, but then again, did you know Amazon has specials on their MP3 downloads? Take a look at their 50 Albums for $5 Each, or that $5 credit can get you the Twilight soundtrack (with Paramore’s Decode and Bella’s Lullaby) for a mere $2.99.
Go shopping for CDs and electronics and take advantage of this promotion. Heck, you can now shop even easier on your iPhone. This deal expires on December 25, 2008.
Amazon App for Your iPhone
Amazon recently released Amazon Mobile, an iPhone app designed to make shopping at Amazon easier while on the go.
You can even try the experimental Amazon Remembers that lets you take a picture of an item using your iPhone and Amazon tries to match that picture with their products.
