Larry Bird Is Still Ill
After watching this highlight reel of Legendary Larry Bird, he’s still an ill baller. Those funky moves and that all-seeing vision for some sick passes!
Music background is by Eminem with some profanity.

These are the stories you hope to happen to you one day. Two NBA fans and Twitter users were not believers of THE_REAL_SHAQ on Twitter. Could that really be Shaq Fu or just a 5-4, 14-year old poser? They found out the Twitter way after a chance Tweetup with the Shaqilicious.
Read their story and see their pics. And yeah, blogging about meeting Shaq is good for the ratings.
Thanks to @coachdean for the lead.
NBA big man Shaquille O’Neal and me are baller brothers separated at birth. Yeah, right (but our birthdays are almost the same). Anyways, before the 2009 NBA All Star Game even began, Shaq started off the All Star intros proper jamming with the Jabbawockees.
Even after all these years banging in the NBA, I can’t believe a guy of his size (and age) can move like that.
Nike continues to promote Kobe Bryant and his signature shoes with the latest “NotMyBrokenAnkles” campaign. Here is part of the message Kobe released as President of Ankle Insurance Co.:
Broken ankles can happen at anytime. Don’t let your friends, loved ones or opponents suffer from slow game any longer. If your superior quickness has ever broken someone’s ankles, don’t just laugh at them. Get them the piece of mind they so desperately need.
Of course, the push here is to buy the Zoom Kobe IV which is available in a rainbow of colors.
What do Amare Stoudemire and Barack Obama have in common? Â They’re both ballers who share a passion for the game. Â In fact, “Barack” makes a cameo in Amare’s latest video.
Â
Money, it’s got to be the shoes!

After his 22-point, 13-rebound performance against Prairie View A&M, UH forward Roderick Flemings credited his new “Rainbow Warriors Edition” Adidas. I tried getting a clean look from the Tivo-ed game, but all I could come up with is this.

Here’s the video at full speed.
I can’t identify the $175 kicks. Anyone?
The Big Aristotle is not only a philosopher, NBA giant, and business man. He’s technosavvy tweeting away on Twitter as @THE_REAL_SHAQ.
And it does sound like this is the real deal Shaquille O’Neal after this doubter got a lesson in Shaq Fu. Go follow the Real Shaq and see for yourself.
While you’re at it, read some old posts comparing and contrasting Shaq and Kobe.

Whoa, a fight in the WNBA last night with three ejections! Players coming off the benches in defense, coaches trying to separate players. Rick Mahorn, Bill Laimbeer, Michael Cooper involved?! Pistons versus the Lakers all over again.
The NBA is now definitely in the WNBA.
Ha, our unofficial alumni site has some hopeful thinking going on with this Dallas Mavericks jersey for Derrick Low. No jinx!
But he’d look a lot more natural in a red jersey…
Even though now champion Kevin Garnett is no longer signed with Nike, the Swoosh machine needs to hyperstrike retro Air Garnett IIIs right now to commemorate the Celtics victory.
Of course, these popular kicks back in the day need to be remixed with Celtic shamrock green and white. Those would be hot!
Thanks to the Kansas Jayhawks (or coulda been, free-throw-choking Memphis Tigers), Adidas has broken Nike’s string of seven consecutive NCAA Men’s Basketball Championships. Here’s to the champion Jayhawks decked out with Adidas.

The Brotherhood has done it.
Here’s one last look at this year’s bracket from a kicks perspective.

Like last year, the NCAA Men’s Basketball champion will be an easy kicks pick. The Finals are solely represented by those from the Adidas Brotherhood, the Memphis Tigers and the Kansas Jayhawks.

So Adidas finally breaks through Nike’s recent hold of National Champs dating back to 2001 (Duke, Maryland, Syracuse, UConn, NC, Florida twice). Indeed, 2008 is the year basketball is a brotherhood.
