Pearl City Had One ILX
Spotted a new Acura ILX headed out of Pearl City.
From the back view, I wasn’t too impressed. This Acura looked too much like an upscaled Honda Accord. It didn’t have a distinctive Acura look.

I don’t know about you, but I like to associate songs and music to events to help remember the occasion. For the Scion FR-S Social Media Superstar Search contest, here are some of the songs stuck in my head. No particular order and no particular reasons for picking these songs, just songs that I like.
You can also find the full list on my shared iTunes playlist and a partial list on Spotify. Sorry, having a problem embedding the Spotify playlist here. 🙁
It must be the proverbial midlife crisis. How else can I rationalize wanting to drive a new, sporty Scion FR-S? The car is totally impractical for my lifestyle, yet the allure is there.
Maybe I’m trying to recapture my former Toyota Celica days. Maybe I’m remembering way back to small kid time when my family of five rode around in a 1984 Celica coupe with me perched on the center hump. Whatever it is, it is still there.
And here we are… Scion Hawaii started their Social Media Superstar Search contest a few weeks back to test drive a Scion FR-S for one week, and I entered. But it’s only for one week you might be thinking. Yeah, so? Ultimately, I know I can’t buy this car since it’s just not realistic – two doors, a tiny back seat where I would have to cram two kids’ car seats. Can you see this situation playing out over the years? So one week? Heck, yeah, that’s doable! 🙂
Getting back to the contest, the top two vote getters wins the FR-S for a week. Voting ends on 11pm, Friday, August 31, 2012. Since this is a social media contest, well really a Facebook contest, there are a few things you got to know in order to vote.
Yes, I realize I’m waaay back there in the contest, and there are very qualified drivers who can better put the FR-S through its paces, but… this is a social media contest, and it’s all in fun so why not have fun with it? I’m not saying my Sienna van high revving its engine to enter the H3 freeway isn’t fun, but I’m sure the FR-S experience would be fun-er.
So go ahead, have some fun, and place your Scion FR-S vote. Random voters can also win a Scion backpack and $25 in credit at Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse.
While you’re voting for me, follow along with Scion Hawaii’s latest on:

Thanks for your support!
Rumors online say Kanye West and his companion, Kim Kardashian, are in Hawaii. They supposedly hit up the McDonalds in Kaneohe, yeah, the double wide one.
Keep your peepers peeled for this power pair.
Although this picture is near the H3 on-ramp in Kaneohe, I first spotted this new Scion FR-S in Kailua on my morning commute.
You wanna help me win a test drive of the FR-S? Then vote!
Ooops, sorry Scott Caan, didn’t mean the oversight, but I didn’t realize you share the same August 23 birthdate as Kobe Bryant and Jeremy Lin.
Happy H50 Birthday!
At first, the license plate of this Saab caught my eye. WASAAB. I see what the car owner did there with Wassup and a Saab.
Then the frame for the license plate caught my eye. It’s an advertisement for Kiddori.com. That’s an interesting way to advertise an app! For a description of the app, check out Ryan’s Hawaii Blog.
At least that’s what I think is this car. Although I couldn’t get a clean picture, I think the rear said BRZ, so I’m sticking with my assertion that Kailua get one Subaru BRZ.

I approved this message back in 2006, but since it’s been six years, I feel compelled to reiterate my approval. So here goes.
And although I’m not running for any political position, you have to smile when you see this.

On Island 98.5, Tuesday mornings are designated as Two Voice Tuesdays where Gregg Hammer mashes up two impersonations. You call in with two personalities, and Sir Hammer does his impromptu magic. This past Tuesday, you could have heard a Samoan Linda Lingle, a Micronesian Frank Delima, a Samoan Hitler, Larry Price mixed with Al Sharpton, and more. Did you catch it? If so, take a listen!
Gregg needs to un-Japanese his Chinese impersonation though. Wonder what a Chinese Bubba Fujimoto would sound like? 🙂
You saw what Pearlridge looked like in the morning. How about Ala Moana on a weekday morning right around 8 am.

A nice, leisurely walk before class started in the morning.
