Cereal Remix No Longer Mixing
Back in March 2010, Cereal Remix opened their doors in Aiea. Sadly, sometime in November/December 2011, Cereal Remix closed their doors, leaving behind this empty facade.

Hmmm, I seemed to have forgotten to post these pictures of the annual Kaneohe Christmas Parade. My bad for not sharing the Christmas cheer. The best moments were Mufi Hannemann taking pictures of the parade using his iPad while participating in the parade and the fire dance near the end of the event.
You still got time to head on over to the Club and get your 2012 calendar personally autographed. You know where to go – 939 Keeaumoku St.
On this morning’s Island 98.5 show, Krey-Z Oshiro named his top 3 (female) broadcasters. I forget the exact order but his list went something like this:
Reminds me of the previous Listmania: Hottest Local Newscasters. Such memories…
Just two pictures from the total lunar eclipse in December 2011.

Boy, was I ever wrong about the dessert shop, La Palme Dor Patisserie, next to Shirokiya in Ala Moana. This confectionery opened in the summer of 2006, and I predicted it wouldn’t last.
More than 5 years later, business is still bustling.
Congratulations to La Palme Dor on their continued success.
You definitely know it’s Christmas time in Hawaii when Tufi Claus makes an appearance. If you’re unfamiliar with Tufi Claus, he is one of the many politically incorrect, stereotypical impersonations done by the comedian DJ Gregg Hammer (come to think about it, which of Gregg’s impersonations are not politically incorrect?)
So here’s the setup. Rory and Gregg of the Wake Up Crew were talking about old school, smashmouth UH football. A caller jokes about former players like Tufi Punch-you-in-da-jaw. After short banter, Rory emphasizes “Tufi” and Gregg smoothly transitions to his infamous Tufi Claus character. It goes something like this:

Some pictures from Sunday’s brush fire in Hawaii Kai. The fire was extinguished as we passed by on our way to Costco Hawaii Kai.
I can now cross it off my To Do list. Yes, I have tasted Schweddy Balls.
This test ice cream flavor has been available at Ben & Jerry’s in Windward Mall for some time, but I never had the opportunity to sample the sweetness. So what do Schweddy Balls taste like? Kinda like vanilla. The rum balls are naughtily good but then the malt balls are confusing. Nibbling into the balls, you expect the tinge of rum. But then you get a airy rice crispy-like malt ball, and you’re like, “Whoa, what’s this?”
I’m guessing that the Schweddy Balls will be a limited run that won’t endure. So if you want to sample Schweddy Balls, my suggestion is to taste them sooner rather than later.
At the Blaisdell Center on opening night of the Island Wide Expos. The crowds are right behind me.
