“My Blackberry Is Not Working” Humor
A funny clip to start the day. Tech talk taken literally, and remember, don’t try to put your dongle in an Apple.
Gingerbread House from Caked Las Vegas
Building and decorating a gingerbread house (or two) has become a Christmas tradition in our family. The kids enjoy it, and kits from Costco make it convenient. But have you actually tried eating the finished gingerbread house? Not so good, not good at all. Wouldn’t you think you could eat a gingerbread house?
Now Caked Las Vegas is selling their Gingerbread House Kit that includes fresh baked gingerbread house parts and all the trimmings. Kits are available in small or large sizes, but more importantly, the gingerbread pieces look and taste great. Normally, we dump the house in the trash after a few days, but I think we’ll be eating these Caked homes.

Signs of Hawaii: No Power at Ala Moana
With the recent torrential rains, Ala Moana Center has had its share of power problems. Sections of the mall have been without power during crucial shopping times. Starting on Sunday, December 19, there’s been hours of power outages. Here’s just a few of the makeshift signs informing patrons of the closures.
Starbucks in Macy’s had the best handmade signs.
Shirokiya offered this “apology.”
Strangely enough, for a store that caters to Japanese visitors, I didn’t see a sign written in Japanese. Just signs like the one above giving out “Mahalo’z”.
Macy’s didn’t even bother with signs. I guess they let common sense rule – doors locked, lights are off, we must be closed.
Even without electricity, the Apple Store was still open on a limited basis.
With the lights off, you still could buy an iPad.
I guess with charged iOS devices equipped with credit card readers and 3G wireless service, purchases could still go through??
A Rainy Sunday Morning
What to do on a very rainy Sunday morning?
You can look outside at the rain.
Play a game of Battleship.
Decorate a gingerbread house.
Play Hi-Q solitaire.
Look at the light fixtures.
Or do some reading.
How was your rainy Sunday?
AC Carter, Cool Greys, and a Monster Dunk
But not all together. There was an Anthony “AC” Carter sighting in this highlight reel of JR Smith throwing down a monster slam. In slow motion replay, check out JR’s “Cool Greys” Air Jordan XI.
2010 Was Justin Bieber’s Year
It’s official. Year 2010 belonged to Justin Bieber. He’s the only commonality of top search engine results. Fans searched Bing, Yahoo, Twitter, and also Google for the latest on the Biebs.
On Google’s Zeitgeist 2010 for the fastest rising queries?
Here’s Google’s year in review video.
Congratulations to Justin. This year was indeed his world.
Packed at the Moanalua Craft Fair
Haven’t been to a craft fair in ages but did manage to hit up the large Moanalua Craft Fair last weekend. Still the same vibe and more or less the same lot of stuff. But there were new things like Silly Bands, Nemu-Nemu, and even more vendors covering the campus. Parking was still bad. Just a few pics below.
Pepperminty Kicks
Talking about coolness and ice, I saw these kicks the other day, and I had to snap some pics ninja-ishly.
These Nike Air Trainer I Premium Quickstrikes are definitely cool like peppermint.
