Chris Brown and Rihanna Incident is Serious
Wow, with more details emerging of the altercation between Chris Brown and Rihanna, the more serious things are.

Season 8 of Dancing with the Stars is one month way, but the line up of stars is just about set. Steve Wozniak, originally from Apple, is representing the geeks while Steve-O will see if a Jackass can dance. Singer Jewel and her hubby will be competing, and Lawrence Taylor will see if he’s a dancing giant. Rapper Lil’ Kim must be restarting her career after a stint in the slammer while Denise Richards is simply starting over.
Never say never with the return of Julianne Hough who said she was done dancing to focus on singing. But what happens when your boyfriend wants to dance? Olympian skaters must be banned from the series due to their successes so instead, why not see if Olympic gymnasts can foxtrot? Seventeen year old Shawn Johnson will make the crossover.
Who else will be going for that mirror ball trophy? Heaven on Earth Belinda Carlisle at 58 years old, In Living Color’s David Alan Grier, entertainment reporter and new mom Nancy O’Dell, and who’s Gilles Marini?
Staring in March, Starbucks is going after the cost-conscious coffee addict with the introduction of breakfast Meal Deals. For $3.95, you’ll get a tall latte and pastry or a drip coffee with a breakfast sandwich.
There’s no mention of my favorite cheapo combo of coffee and a pastry. I guess you still can get that for less than $3.95 (and don’t forget the 10% discount for being a Gold member).
Whoa, lots of activity at the Grammy Awards. Biggest news is the domestic assault of Rihanna by boyfriend, Chris Brown. It’s not really clear yet, but more details will surely emerge.
Coldplay won song of the year with Viva la Vida.
And is Whitney Houston on her way back?
Update: Missed female rapper, MIA, performing on her pregnancy due date. Yes, even though Sunday was her baby’s due date, MIA performed with Jay-Z, Kanye West, and Lil’ Wayne. It’s all about priorities people!
Stopped by Ross and saw some crazy colorful and cheap kicks. I don’t recall seeing too many Nikes at Ross, but there were a few this time. Wonder what’s up with the fluorescent colors?
Air Huarache ($25)
Vintage trainers ($25, not sure of the name). Did Deion Sanders wear these?
Air Force 25 ($40)
Even though these were cheap, I passed on them. Though walking around Disneyland in some white, pink, and green kicks would be something!
Bright and early this morning, an installer from Oceanic Time Warner showed up for the installation of my SDV tuning adapter. The overall install took a long time since the thorough tech checked signal strength throughout the household. Once that was done, the installation of the SDV tuning adapter was quick.
The boot up of the tuning adapter took longer than the unboxing and connecting of the device itself. The adapter I got? It’s a Cisco STA1520 which Engadget showed some time back.
<
The installation and cost of the tuning adapter is free, and what do I get from this box? Not much. I now get a few additional digital channels that Oceanic converted to SDV, but I’m not paying for additional premium stations or packages. I might get the HD pack for $7 a month which I could not receive without the SDV tuning adapter. So now I got options of paying Oceanic more money each month!
I just read about NetworkedBlogs and am trying out their new widget on Pulpconnection. Not sure how to describe this app/service other than it exposes your blog (and blogs you read) to your Facebook friends. Also, the widget displays your Facebook friends who follow your blog.
I musta missed this, but looks like YouTube promotes the legal purchasing of music via iTunes and Amazon’s MP3 Store. When you watch a music video on YouTube, there’s a Download This Song bar showing the legal sources of purchase such as iTunes and Amazon. Even when the song is over, there’s a bar in the video leading viewers to buy the song.
That’s a good way to build up good karma, YouTube. Or maybe it’s a maneuver by record labels to try to recoup lost single sales?
Former KHON Channel 2 news anchor Tannya Joaquin started her new job over at KGMB Channel 9. She now anchors the 5 and 6 PM weeknight broadcasts. Along with her on-air duties, she even has a KGMB9 blog called Ad-Lib where she explains why she “crossed the road” going from KHON to KGMB.
And yes, Tannya did go from Channel 2 to Channel 9 on 2-2-09, her official start date at KGMB.
I hope she continues her reporting on the fun stuff too. Like the iSpam incident in 2005 and going to Kicks Hawaii for Black Friday sales coverage.
With her move and other KGMB9 additions, I think there’s a serious shift in local newscaster eye candy. In 2005, KGMB didn’t even rate in the Listmania of Hottest Local Newscasters (unless Liz Chun was misrepresented with KITV), but now, Channel 9 has a damn strong showing.
