The Best Christmas Gift Ever!
What happens when family members give Lotto scratch off game tickets as a Christmas gift? Watch our very own home video to find out.
So cruel, but not as bad as this guy (lots of profanity).

Continuing the marketing challenge of Shaq and Kobe, let’s look at my favorite, shoes, aka kicks. Shaq versus Kobe, Round 2. Sorry, but no contest in this one.
Shaq’s affordable $40 Dunkman shoe available only at Payless Shoes sends out a positive message. But it’s uuuuugggggllllyyyy. No matter how dominating Shaq is, shoeheads would shake their heads at the Dunkmans. I don’t even think a raving review from Professor K would help sell this shoe.
Nike is gearing up Kobe’s marketing campaign. With Kobe’s Colorado memories slowing ebbing away, Nike is beginning to push Kobe as one of its signature players. Previously, Kobe’s worn the Nike Air Huarache 2K4 and 2K5, now he has his own shoe, the Zoom Kobe I, coming out in Feb 2006. You may have seen a preview of the Kobe I during the Heat vs. Lakers Christmas Day match-up. Kinda funky but still better than the Dunkmans.
Round 2 goes to Kobe. (Nike wins out either way since they directly and indirectly endorse both shoes.)

It seemed strange at the time, but I did experience Apple’s updated checkout system called EasyPay during the Holiday buying period. With a wireless device, a cashier scans your items, swipes your credit card, and you’re done. A receipt is sent to your email address.
It was easier than waiting in that long checkout line.

With the frosty breakup of former Lakers teammates, Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O’Neal, many story lines about the two keep popping up. Sure, sure, there was the anticipated Heat vs Lakers game on Christmas Day that the Heat won, but how about other perspectives?
In NBA jersey sales, the Miami Heat jerseys were the best sellers of 2005. With a team of Dwyane Wade, Shaq, Jason Williams, Antoine Walker, Zo, and GP, the Heat jerseys supplanted the Lakers jerseys as best selling. The Lakers jerseys were the top sellers for the past three years (when did Shaq leave LA again?).
So Round 1 goes to the big man, Shaq.
According to NBA sales figures, the jersey of Dwyane Wade is the best selling jersey this year. The jersey of the Miami Heat guard, nicknamed the Flash, beat out the usual A.I., King James, Starbury, Kobe, Shaq, T-Mac, Melo, TD, and Vinsanity.
With the combo of DWade and Shaq, the most popular team jerseys belong to the Heat.
Don’t know how legit this local story is, but Tannya Joaquin from KHON reported it so maybe there’s some truth to it.
A Mililani mom bought her son a video iPod from the Ala Moana Wal-Mart for Christmas, but when he opened the box, he found a piece of mystery meat (spam?) wrapped up instead of the iPod.
Maybe, she just got the latest, not-yet-released organic iPod that uses cells to hold data?
Update: Seems like there’s been at least one more of these iSpams reported. An update of the story is now available. Thanks, Tabasco Man.

Haven’t tried it out yet, but the sole purpose of Handbrake Lite is to convert DVDs into iPod-sized movies.
Read the product description, it’s pretty funny.
Following its Person of the Year award, Time magazine published its lists of the Best of 2005. In the Television category, Battlestar Galactica got top billing. The latest works of Kanye West, Late Registration, is considered the best in the Music category.
Don’t forget to check out the 20-minute BSG exclusive available free on iTunes, and I still like Kanye’s Diamonds from Sierra Leone.
Unfortunately, pulpconnection didn’t make the cut for the Coolest 50 Websites of 2005.
You would have thought that with all the family Christmas parties, there would be lots of leftovers. No such luck this year. No leftovers but one tired, over-stimulated baby. So we had to go support the Kailua economy by buying lunch.
Tried out a new pizza place in Kailua, Mama’s Island Pizza, and also bought Ice Blended Mochas from the neighboring Coffee, Bean, and Tea. The Kailua Supreme pizza is pretty good. Not your usual Pizza Hut taste. Kinda pricey, but we’d go back again.
Large Pizza from Mama’s Island Pizza $20
Two Ice Blended Mochas from Coffee Bean $8
One baby sleeping in the car Priceless
A whole bunch of pictures from family Christmas events.
I’m still recovering…
