Diamonds are NOT Forever
Kanye West may be rhymin’ that diamonds are forever, but it ain’t so for this OG. Decided to sell my Tiffany Diamond Dunks on eBay, and a shoehead in NY won the prize.
One more look at my precious…

Caught up with recent talks about stars, Jessica Alba, Kalai Miller, and the KITV news dudes, I’ve been inspired to report more celebrity news.
Diets of the stars have always been popular, and now Lindsay Lohan and Hilary Duff have adopted the waif thin, sickly look. To see how this works, I’ll be eating grapefruit snacks (sold at Costco) to curb my weight so I, too, can look like I’m starving.
Are they or aren’t they? Rumors have been flying about the state of marriage between Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey. E! Online even posted a report about the two filing for divorce then posted a retraction shortly thereafter. Whatever happens, I’m on Nick’s side. Ever since watching the Newlyweds, it looks like Nick is a cool, grounded dude. But Jessica, you know her boots are made for walkin’.
Okay that was enough celebrity posts, my starstruck phase is over. Back to the real world.
Ran across three local celebrities while in the Ward area today. While eating lunch at Kakaako Kitchen, saw KITV news dudes Dan Meisenzahl and Rob DeMello.
Then the highlight of the day must have been seeing No Ka Oi classmate, Clifford “Kalai” Miller at Borders. It was great to see the buffed up actor strutting his stuff around the store then walking past me without an acknowledgment. Must be he didn’t remember me since I was holding my daughter. 😉
Oh well. I did pick up the boo Buzz Marketing with Blogs for Dummies so that I can figure out what the heck I’m doing here.
Found this tee at APB to match the Diamond Dunks. What can I say, the hype of the Tiffanys got to me.
Are you down with apb?
Happened to be at Safeway in Hawaii Kai looking for this year’s Slam Kicks issue when I saw a bottle of fruity chocolatey goodness, Coffee-mate’s Chocolate Raspberry creamer. It’s finally reached Hawaii. On past years trips to Cali, I’ve been guzzling this stuff down. It’s yummy! Yes, I’ve even had this stuff imported on a few occasions.
Don’t know why it took so long to come to Hawaii. Maybe rapper Kanye West had some choice words for Nestle. Or maybe the rich, white folks in Hawaii Kai complained enough? It don’t matter, you just got to give it a try.
Wayne’s World, this is why you leave space for cream in your cup of joe.
Tangent #1: the Hawaii Kai Safeway is nice, very nice compared to other Safeways I’ve been to. Kind of a rustic decor.
Tangent #2: this Safeway still suffered from a shortage of the purple carton Lactaid milk. It ain’t just Kailua.
Thanks goodness Rory Wild is back on the air leading the i-94 Wakeup Crew. Sorry Gregg Hammer, Krey-Z Oshiro, and now Natasha, but without Rory, your show is just mediocre. When Rory is around, timing is smooth, and the show runs well. Gregg is funny, but he ain’t the lead for a show. His comedic commentary follows Rory’s lead. Don’t get me started when Jr. K. Jr. is on the show. I immediately change to another station or listen to my iPod when he’s guest hosting.
Mea culpa to Wayne’s World for not mentioning his blog. Filled with the latest deals and even a picture of a “juiced up” du575 pumping them muscles. Check it out at:
Was a crazy week for picking up new kicks. First up, I managed to get a hold of a pair of Tiffany Diamond Dunks and Zoom Team Editions. Then Gung Gung Chung wanted new court shoes to dominate the Badminton League for Retired Chinese in Hawaii (BLRCH). Hey, just in time for the Footlocker Friends & Family sale! Picked out two possibilities, the ultra performance Nike Air Zoom Huarache 2K5 (Kobe’s signature shoe) and the clearance RBK Afronaut (the Afronaut?!?).
All in all, a good week but would’ve been ever better if I found some Jordan P-Rods. More pics of the pickups.
Canon released a bunch of new digital cameras today. Check out the PowerShot S80! 8.0 megapixels, 2.5-inch LCD, 3.65 wide-angle optical zoom. Suddenly, my trusty PowerShot S30 is looking kinda old.
What? The S80 is about $550? Okay, my S30 ain’t that old.
Even though I got my free iPod Shuffle a few weeks ago, I never had a chance to try it out. Its little green box has been sitting on my desk, so when I forgot my big iPod in the Sienna, I figured it’s time for the Shuffle. I unpacked it, connected it to my PowerBook, and sync-ed up some music. After four hours of charging the battery, the Shuffle was ready for a lunchtime stroll around historic Palm Circle.
The sound from this thing is amazing! I assumed a small, cheap item meant small, cheap sound quality. Nope, high notes, low notes, all good to my untrained ear.
This music player is so elegant and so effective that I have to rethink my iPod use. The Shuffle is great, actually it’s insanely great!

I almost knocked myself out after having the asparagus appetizer at Morton’s Steak House.
