Crazy Shirts is selling Barack Obama shirts with their latest creation showcasing Barack’s local style favorites – surf, shave ice, and slippahs. Order yours online for $25 and be ready for his inauguration on January 20, 2009.
At the Macworld Expo 2009, an HP product surprisingly generated a lot of interest. The HP MediaSmart Server ex485/ex487 is hot! With this home server, you can save backups to it, even with Mac OS X’s Time Machine. You can store all your iTunes libraries on the MediaSmart and serve them out to all machines running iTunes. You can even backup the MediaSmart Server to Amazon’s S3 cloud.
There are a few downsides for Mac users though. The MediaSmart runs Windows Home Server, and you initially need a Windows box to configure the server. And because it runs Windows, you have to take the typical Windows security precautions.
Here’s a very detailed review of the MediaSmart Server ex487.
You can pre-order your MediaSmart ex485 for $600 from Amazon. Looking better than a Drobo.
I think I got Tweetbacks working on Pulpconnection. What’s a Tweetback? It’s a Twitter link back to a blog post and is better explained here.
I don’t get much traffic via Twitter (or so I think) but kinda fun to see what happens.
So far, moving Pulpconnection from Blogger to WordPress has been painful with regards to site visits. Here’s stats from Sitemeter showing the change from December 10, 2008 to January 9, 2009.
I started making changes on December 23. Starting in 2009, things really went downhill. Hopefully, this WordPress migration starts paying off soon.
While you’re trying to get your hands on the Twilight book, why not pre-order the DVD movie? Amazon is now taking pre-orders for the flix, and the DVD will cost you $23.
Here’s my review and observations of the Twilight movie. At $23, I don’t think Summit Entertainment took my suggestion of cheap, aggressive pricing for the DVD.

From what I’ve heard from the literary grapevine is that Twilight, the first book in Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight saga, is pretty much sold out in Hawaii. I haven’t confirmed this and find it hard to believe after seeing stacks of Twilight previously (okay, the pic shows stacks of Breaking Dawn).
After the success of Twilight the movie, maybe the book sold quickly during the Holidays? Or maybe it’s posters like this urging literacy?
Looking through my iTunes library, here’s my list of most played songs that I added to my collection in 2008:
I wouldn’t have guessed at some of these selections, but iTunes is telling me otherwise. For some reason, Janet Jackson’s Discipline CD outplays the other songs by far, but I think I left it on repeat one day. Hmm, I listen to lots of Coldplay.
Team Jacob fans of Twilight, breathe a sigh of relief. Did you get the email saying that Taylor Lautner will reprise his role as Jacob Black in New Moon? Wow, that weight’s now lifted, and I feel so much better!
Taylor and I could be bros!
Tuesdays mark the new releases for music and movies, but this week, the iTunes Store doesn’t seem to have anything new. The New and Noteworthy section has a lot of retreaded material (Britney Spears’ Circus is not new).
But today is also the first day of Macworld Expo with its “Phil-harmonic” where Apple Senior VP, Phil Schiller, is doing the honors instead of Steve Jobs. Is this musical retread a sign of changes coming to the iTunes Store to be announced at the Expo? Pricing change? No more DRM? In a few short hours, we will see…
On the eve of Macworld Expo, Roxio released a new major upgrade to its Toast disc burning software. Toast 10 comes in a regular and pro version with a bunch of new features.
On the TIvo front, Toast 10 lets you play content stored on your Mac to your Tivo and lets you stream Tivo recordings to your iPhone over the Internet.
Interesting features but the cost of upgrading is expensive at $80 for the regular version and $130 for the pro version.
At the UH Men’s basketball WAC season opener against Boise State (which they loss), the squad displayed new team shoes.
These look like the Adidas TS Team Creators in a custom UH colorway that most of the team wore except for Roderick Flemings who’s still rocking his Rainbow Warrior Editions.
Hot or not? Personally, I prefer Rod’s bedazzling Undercrwns and think the Creators are just okay. But the Tabasco Man’s nachos are definitely hot!
