This Is Meaningful – Meghan Vogel Track
Watch as track runner Meghan Vogel helps out her faltering competitor finish a grueling race. Just like the Cars’ Lightning McQueen and the King.

Yoda808 gave me the heads up so I went back to my favorite Starbucks and got myself Instapaper, this week’s app pick of the week. Â Instapaper, the overall service, is awesome. In essence, you can save web pages for offline viewing. But there’s much more. You can share page links easily, view web pages in a stripped down version getting rid of ads and other distracting visuals. You can even configure popular Twitter apps like Tweetbot to integrate with Instapaper.
All I’m trying to say, really, is go to Starbucks, and pickup the Instapaper freebie this week. It’s so worth it.
Oh, now what’s this? Farmers Hawaii is teaming up with Yelp for a social media giveaway featuring the Supabowzooka. It’s real simple to win.
In real life, head on over to the Farmers Hawaii HQ at Six Waterfront Plaza then fire up Yelp on your mobile device (um well, yeah, you need one of these to enter and win, sorry!). With the Yelp app, check in to Farmers Insurance Hawaii. Go up to the 3rd floor of Tower 6 and show your Yelp checkin offer to the receptionist and claim your Supbowzooka shirt. So simple right?
Just be sure to go during working hours, 9am to 4pm, Monday through Friday. For more details, read the disclaimer at:
While you’re at Farmers Hawaii, you might as well talk to their peeps about insurance and see what they can do for you. Of course, leaving a Yelp review is optional but hey, gotta keep the karma good!
Thanks to Dreamhost and Cloudflare, Pulpconnection is ready for tomorrow’s IPv6 Launch Day. Dreamhost provides free IPv6 address assignments while Cloudflare has enabled their IPv6 gateway for all its users.
Season 2 of the Game of Thrones just proves how Tyrion Lannister as the Hand of the King is GOAT. Here are some of his most memorable lines from this season. Be forewarned (though as a Game of Thrones fan you already know) that there’s some profanity to be heard.
I haven’t been collecting data on this but purely by observation, it seems like my previous install of Linkwithin generated more internal clicks than Outbrain. Providing similar services for recommended posts, Outbrain sounded more comprehensive, so I made the switch.
Now I’m not so sure. I recall more clicks recorded from Linkwithin recommendations. There are a few from Outbrain, but much less on a daily basis. Maybe it’s time to change back?
Linsanity for your feet is black and orange and costs $100. That’s the details for the latest Nike Zoom Hyperdunk 2011 Low “Linsanity” edition. Supposedly released this weekend.
Not sure how this black and orange colorway represents JLin, but who am I to question Linsanity?
Blazing Steaks in the Enchanted Lakes Shopping Center is no more, changing to a new Fat Greek location. Fat Greek was “opening soon” for a long, long time, but as of this week, Fat Greek is now open for business in Kailua.
Look for their other location on Ala Moana Blvd in Waikiki.
Did you notice anything different with the comments section for each post? Pulpconnection’s comment engine has been upgraded to the beta version of Disqus 2012. I’ve been using Disqus for some time after switching from Intense Debate. So far, I’m liking the improvements this newer version of Disqus brings, namely the consolidated area for comments and community.
At its core, Disqus handles blog post comments aka Discussions.
But now there are additional tabs bringing you closer to related activities like viewing Top Discussions and Top Commenters. In the past, this information was available but typically in separate widgets.
You can also vote on comments and easily share them in your other social circles. With these added features, I might take out the Recent Comments in the right sidebar.
Until Disqus 2012 is released to the general public, you can request an invite (my request took about 2 days before I was invited).
I never knew pop diva Katy Perry’s musical past, so it was a shock to learn she started off as Katy Hudson, a Christian Gospel singer. After a tepid response to her first release, she underwent a “pivot,” became Katy Perry, and look at her recording sales now.
Here’s the pivoted Katy singing with Elmo (in a dress too small).
