New Comments on the Hottest Local Newscasters

Over the weekend, there were two more comments on an old favorite, Hottest Local Newscasters. Not sure why there was activity but if you want to relive some memories (and more discussion about Tasha Kobashigawa), check out these old posts.

On the subject of local newscasters, I saw Howard Dashefsky at Safeway and someone that looked like Beth Hillyer over the weekend in Kailua.

Angry Asian Girl Has Met the Challenge

Baby Dog Days author, the Angry Asian Girl, has met my posting challenge by posting 6 posts in 5 days. I said she’d qualify as a Pulpconnection February is for the Fans giveaway if she averaged one post a day for five days. Read her posts about her idiosyncrasies and observational humor that even include her own pictures. There’s posts about Coca-Cola addicts, baby safety, restroom hygiene, bottle humor, and life on a Saturday with the Angry Asian Girl. Good stuff!!

What did she win? The original prize giveaway is T-Pain’s classic ho ballad, I’m N Luv (Wit a Stripper) but frightened by POSH allegations, I’ll let her choose the (iTunes) song of her choice. Maybe Jesus Walks by Kanye West and featured on Jarhead or So Sick by Ne-Yo?? Her choice, she did good.

The Baby Dog Days Posting Challenge

So my February for the Fans giveaway caught some heat by none other than the Angry Asian Girl (she’s angry you know). She’s been an avid reader of my drivel, and maybe I dissed her by not choosing her as a prize winner. Either that or she absolutely loves T-Pain’s I’m N Luv (Wit a Stripper)?

Either way, I challenged her to write one post per day for five days on Baby Dog Days, and she too can enjoy the sweet melodies of Luv’ing a Stripper. So far, she’s got three posts in two days! Three days more to go. Looks like I may be forking out another 99-cents for an iTunes gift song.

Dear Pulpconnection readers and fans, February is for you! To say thanks for the devoted readership, Pulpconnection is showing its appreciating by giving away gifts to its most avid readers and active commenters. No sorry, we’re not talking Ultimate Air Jordans or $10,000 in iTunes. My Google AdSense advertising hasn’t hit the jackpot with only one click, yielding $0, so the budget is limited.

Happy Valentine’s Day to all. Be sure to tell your SO and kids that you love them!

If you’re still looking for a last minute gift, how about a treat at Elements Hawaii? They offer hair styling, facials, pedicures, and massages. "You Can’t Shine a Turd"

“You can’t shine a turd,” an old salty dog tried to explain to me, then a young, naive whippersnapper. I didn’t understand what he meant, but as the years went by two plus two started to equal four. As an older, not-so-naive whippersnapper, I have sadly come across several individuals who fit the bill, and today I add another to the list.

So for all you young whippersnappers out there, just remember, “you can’t shine a turd.” And don’t fall N Luv (wit a Stripper) either.

What I Saw on Saturday

Running errands on Saturday, this is some of the things I saw.

I did NOT see the new Air Max 360 at FootLocker. Supposedly their shipment didn’t come in for the big January 21 release date. Strange for such a big chain not to get these in. Personally, I think they’re delaying these until the 30% Friends & Family sale is over. I did see the 360s at Kicks HI. They’re kinda so-so looking.

Went to Elements Hawaii (not related to Kicks HI) to do some tech support. The spa is decorated with a Valentine’s Day theme.

It was getting late so decided to pickup dinner on the way home. Came across Wahoo’s Fish Taco, newly opened at the Ward Gateway location. While parking, I saw this pimped out Mini Cooper. What was it pimped out with? Hello Kitty gear. Hello Kitty head rests and gas cover. Crazy.
