Pulp
If Mark Dacascos Were a Starbucks Drink…
He’d be a tall, skinny Peppermint Mocha Twist! A refreshingly cool, mocha complexioned, non-fat drink with a kick. The only question then is would the drink be cool or hot?
Be sure to vote for Mark and his temporary partner, Anna Trebunskaya, as Lacey recovers from the flu.
There’s an App for That…
The litany of iPhone apps continues to grow and seriously, there is an app for that. My latest iPhone app additions:
- Gowalla. Since @hawaii said so.
- foursquare. The mobile way of getting to foursquare.
- Gap StyleMixer. I need style help.
- Pizza Hut. Order from The Hut from your iPhone.
- SnapTell. Take a pic of a book, DVD, CD and get online ratings.
Still looking for the new Toys R Us “Big Book” app, the one that lets you create and share your list of favorite toys (as seen in the Big Book itself).
Sparkle Floam Is a Failure
Did your kids get any Sparkle Floam in trick or treat goodie bags? What a messy failure they are! So sticky and gooey, they’re a disaster in the making.
Sparkle Floam looks like Styrofoam grains mixed into glittery goo and reminds me of a kid-time novelty. Remember that tube of goo that came with a small straw? You’d put a wad of the stuff on the straw and blow greenish, reddish bubbles. Yeah that stuff. Smells the same too. Even with this memory trigger, Sparkle Floam is a failure.
Starbucks and HP Are Friends and Family?
Not quite a self-evident partnership but the coffee purveyor and the computer company have joined up to offer savings to its friends and family. By signing up at:
http://hpdirect.com/deals/friendsandfamily/starbucks
Starbucks friends and family can get deals on HP computers, laptops, printers, accessories and more. That is if you’re a fan of HP goods. I would’ve liked a coffee and fruit pairing better if you know what I mean.
Chris Pirillo Talks Windows 7 on a Mac
CNN Geekologist, Chris Pirillo, shows Windows 7 running on a Mac via VMWare. Here’s his segment.
And yes, Chris will be attending the upcoming [re]thinkHawaii.
It Was a Matter of Time…
It was only a matter of time. Dancing with the Stars is already certified sexy, and you’ve seen the sexy outfits, right? Soon, DWTS Season 9 star, Joanna Krupa, is taking sexy to a new level with her appearance in Playboy. Yes, the model will be showing her paso and her doble sans the costume in the iconic men’s mag in November.
But who’s ready for Donny Osmond in Playgirl?!? Thankfully, that’s a joke!
Word of the Day: Mantrums
What do you call it when grown men throw a tantrum? Why mantrums of course!
This courtesy of Jon Gosselin’s behavior to his new partner.
The Microsoft Store Opens for Business
Microsoft has opened its doors to its own retail stores similar to the Apple Stores. Here’s a video of the store opening. Are you excited!?!
I wonder if Microsoft is confident enough to showcase Apple computers running Windows or Windows software like Office for the Mac? No Windows 7 running on Apple hardware yet though.
But really, can a Microsoft Store opening compare with this done Hawaiian style?
Humorous Hoax of a Halloween Costume
For the Twitter fanatics, here’s the Halloween costume for you – the Twitter bird mascot!
But really, not for sale at Walmart.
Music Leaks Pushing Up Release Dates?
Don’t know why this tactic wasn’t used earlier, but songs and albums are now releasing ahead of schedule after being leaked online. Instead of letting people pirate the music before release dates, music companies are now selling the goods before pirating can steal away too many sales.
Adam Lambert’s Time for Miracles is the latest casualty. Jay-Z’s Blueprint 3 went on sale early due to piracy, and I have to wonder about the New Moon soundtrack. Supposedly, it’s release date was pushed up due to “high demand,” but methinks high demand by pirates was the real cause.
So I’m not sure if I should be thanking music pirates or not?
