Nike Honolulu Kicks
The vaulted Nike Air Max 95 design is getting refreshed with the integration of engineered mesh. Dubbed the Nike Air Max 95 EM, the modernized EM silhouette has designs named after cities. Here’s the Honolulu version that releases tomorrow.

I’m not exactly sure where the Honolulu design connection comes into play, but I’m partial to grey so it’s all good.
Nerds Are Hot!
After watching GoDaddy’s #thekiss commercial during Super Bowl XLVII, nerdiness has taken a different light. Jesse Heiman, who played the nerd to Bar Refaeli’s beauty, is getting more attention from the ladies and even more action from Jay Leno.

Much thanks to @abaggy.
When Kinky Rolls Up to You…
So what do you do when Kinky rolls up next to you? I brought out my iPhone and made a panorama picture of the kinkiness in its full glory.

A “Rari-tree”
If you’ve driven on the Pali Highway in the new year, you’ve passed by a very rare “tree.” This rari-tree (get it, rarity and tree?) is at the entry way to the Nuuanu Reservoir. Watch this video and see if you can spot the “tree.”
Rare Tree from Gee Why on Vimeo.
Regardless of its camouflage, mobile customers must appreciate this abomination of nature.
Backed Simple Bracket
You ever participate in those March Madness brackets with the weighted scoring system where whoever picks the final winning team typically wins the bracket? Yeah, it’s pretty standard, and it’s kind of a bummer scoring system. A biostatistician, Ted Gooley, developed a more equitable way of assigning points based on many variables. I won’t explain his system but you can read about it here.
So what’s it to you? There’s a Kickstarter project that has taken the Gooley method and created an iOS app called Simple Bracket for the upcoming March Madness festivities. For a mere $1, you can have access to the app. Pay more for additional goodies.
Now here’s the challenge from my point of view. The app is the thing, but the developers are only asking for $1. The entire project is aiming at $10,000 in funding by March 5. That’s a heck of a lot of $1 pledges in a short period of time. Sure, there are higher pledge packages, but I don’t see many paying more. I’m hoping this project gets funded, and this video will convince you to offer up a buck.
Back That Linsanity Up
The legend of Linsanity is definitely not forgotten, but its early origin is only now being told. Linsanity: the Movie previewed at Sundance to a limited audience but through Kickstarter, the goal is to finish and distribute this documentary of kismet.
Although this project has reached its goal, you can still back the project to get your own copy of the DVD and other goodies. Deadline is February 15, 2013.
New Ice Bag
My vintage blue ice bag finally gave way, springing a small leak somewhere. You know that generic blue ice bag, probably every household has one from who knows when. So I got a new one and found many options on Amazon. They all work the same, but now they have some color and personality to them.

Super Bowl 47 Music Picks for the Non-Fans
Although the Non-Fans got together to watch Ray Lewis finish his NFL career as a Super Bowl champion, we did not put together a music playlist. So I took the liberty of assembling a few songs in honor of the Ravens and 49ers in SB47. It goes like this:
- Diamonds – Rihanna. Just how many diamonds are in a Super Bowl championship ring?
- Beauty and a Beat – Justin Bieber. Beyond a sports competition, the Super Bowl is also about beauties and the beats.
- Locked Out of Heaven – Bruno Mars. Dedicated to the 49ers and their fans.
- The Glamorous Life – Despite his past, this championship capped off Ray Lewis’ glamorous life.
- Sweet Nothing – Calvin Harris featuring Florence Welch. Describes the great 49ers comeback in the second half that just fell short.
- Skyfall – Adele. Is that what caused the power outage?
- Radioactive – Imagine Dragon. Or maybe it was something radioactive that spiked the power?
- Stubborn Love – The Lumineers. Ray Lewis’ seventeen year career, all with the Ravens.
- Ni**as in Paris – Jay Z and Kanye West. “No one knows what it means, but it’s provocative.”
- Survivor – Destiny’s Child. Super Bowl XLVII saw the reunion of Destiny’s Child, and the Ravens surviving the 49ers comeback.
LEGO Battle
It doesn’t look like the Alien Avengers are going to win this battle against this prehistoric hunter.
Super Bowl 35 Music Picks from the Non-Fans
Back in 2001, the Baltimore Ravens beat the New York Giants, 34 to 7, in Super Bowl XXXV. Fast forward twelve years, and the Baltimore Ravens are once again Super Bowl champs, beating the San Francisco 49ers, 34 to 31, in Super Bowl XLVII.
As tradition, the Non-Fans got together during the Super Bowl for everything but football. Back in 2001, we came up with music playlist.
Oh and I had forgotten all about that huge vat of Zippy’s mac salad.
Holy Kyrie!
Now that Super Bowl XLVII is officially done, it’s okay to catch up on other sports, especially Kyrie Irving’s performance against the Thunder. Watch the highlights of the last few minutes of the Cavs & Thunder game, and you’ll see Kyrie pull off some absolutely sick shots. You know it’s gotta be the shoes!
