Dancing with the Stars, Season 14 Are You Kidding Me??
Are you kidding me? Are you freakishly kidding me? Season 14 of Dancing with the Stars is it. Only on Week 3, and the performances and scores are at such a high caliber. Even the weaker performers are solid, able to shine in their own right. Â Picking a favorite performance each week is simply unfair.
Week 3 featured so many tears as each star told stories of personal successes and tragedies. I lost count how many times the stars and even judges broke down and could not speak. I thought Derek Hough and Maria Menounos made a bold statement with their rendition of Madonna’s Material Girl. The lighting, the music, the choreography – D Hough at his finest!
But what shone even greater than Derek and Maria was Mark Ballas and Katherine Jenkins. Her tribute to her late father – just mesmerizing.
And lastly, you can’t talk DWTS without a mention of William Levy. Judge Bruno is going to have an aneurysm watching a bare chested William shake it on the dance floor.
March Madness 2012 Kicks Analysis #7: The Finals
Flip a coin – heads for Nike and Kentucky, tails for Adidas and Kansas.  It’s that simple, a 50-50 toss up.  What started as a significant statistically advantage  for Nike has been completed negated by the play of Team Adidas.  Crazy Light beats crazy odds.
Will it be Rise As One or All In?

DWTS Season 14, the Best Ever?
Amidst the attention of March Madness, the Game of Thrones, and Draw Something, I’ve almost forgotten about the fourteenth season of Dancing with the Stars. And what a start to the DWTS season!
It seems like every new season of a reality competition is the “best ever.” With Dancing with the Stars, Season 14 may really be the best ever. Typically, you’ll see a mix of dancing abilities, but this group features solid performers already at this early stage. The weak links are few, and none of them are shown below.
Jaleel White
That is not Urkel.
Katherine Jenkins
She of the big voice.
William Levy
People will vote strictly for his hotness.
Donald Driver
Skinny legs mean fast, sharp dance moves.
March Madness 2012 Kicks Analysis #6: The Final Four
My, oh my, how the odds have been beaten. The 2012 Tournament started with 76% of the teams (49) wearing a swoosh. The three stripes of Adidas were on 19% (12 teams) and Under Armour picking up 3 spots.
The Sweet 16 began the trend towards parity, going to 9 Nike teams to 7 Adidas teams. The Elite 8 halved the Sweet 16 teams and somewhat halved the shoe representation going from 9 to 5 Nike teams and 7 to 3 Adidas teams.
The Final Four is all tied up, two to two. Ohio State and Kentucky for Nike and Kansas and Louisville for Adidas. Both brands are even steven at 50%.
March Madness 2012 Kicks Analysis #5: Elite 8
The 2012 Sweet 16 stood with 9 Nike and 7 Adidas teams. As half have fallen, the Elite 8 stands at 5 Nike and 3 Adidas teams. They are:
- Syracuse (Nike)
- Ohio St. (Nike)
- North Carolina (Nike)
- Kansas (Adidas)
- Kentucky (Nike)
- Baylor (Adidas)
- Louisville (Adidas)
- Florida (Nike)
Last year, the 2011 field of 8 stood 7 strong with Nike and one sole Adidas. In ’08, it was a 4-all tie, and in ’07, Nike had a slight nod, 5-3 over Adidas.
It’s Winter Online!
In the realm of the Internet, it’s already winter.
Season 2 of the Game of Thrones is already available on HBO Go! The North Remembers…
Game of Thrones Is THAT Good!
After catching up with Season 1 on DVD and with Season 2 about to begin on April 1, we have subscribed to HBO. Yes, the Game of Thrones is that good. Damn you the Starks of Winterfell, the Dragon family of the Targaryens, and especially Tyrion Lannister for making me dish out for premium cable channels!
On hold goes Netflix for the opportunity to watch the coming wars of Season 2.
March Madness 2012 Kicks Analysis #4: Shoes of Champions
Adidas is All In by outfitting teams with the adiZero Crazy Light shoes. The most noticeable colorway being Baylor’s neon Electricity. Although Nike says Rise As One, they have a variety of team shoes on display during the Madness of March. Jordans remain popular and can be seen on any team, but Nike is pushing the LeBron 9 and the Zoom Hyperenforcer.
In either case, I’m not liking both. The Zoom Hyperenforcer looks “run of the mill” without anything really standing out with its design. While the Crazy Light may be crazy light, it has an appearance of an ankle brace. I still say Nike missed an opportunity with the Zoom Rookie.
Electric Cars and Bras
I really don’t understand the value of a “car bra,” but I guess it’s reassuring to know the electric Leaf can cover herself up.
