Starbucks Year of the Dragon Seasonal Drink?
No, there isn’t one of these, but could there be? I’d be interested in a Starbucks seasonal drink associated with the Lunar New Year aka Chinese New Year. The drink wouldn’t necessarily have to represent each of the twelve Zodiac animals. That’s just too many drink recipes that will span 12 years – too long. No, one seasonal drink with a custom cup design will do. I believe Starbucks does have A Year of the Dragon collectible mug already.
Or would this promotion come too quickly on the heels of the Thanksgiving and Christmas seasonal drinks? Would seasonal drink fatigue set in? Possibly.
Maybe the drink would be a custom tea drink, not necessarily coffee. Just an idea. On the other hand, how appealing would this seasonal drink be during the Year of the Rat (2020) or Year of the Pig (2019)? Hmm, 2016 is the Year of the (Red Fire) Monkey and that would be interesting!
Does Breaking Dawn for Valentine’s Day Make Your Abs Pop?
Does the idea of Twilight Breaking Dawn, Part 1 releasing before Valentine’s Day make your abs pop? It does for Taylor Lautner aka “Team Jacob.”
Here’s Mr. Lautner talking about the forced maturity of his character in Breaking Dawn.
Twilight’s Breaking Dawn at Target
Sunday’s Target ad featured Twilight’s Breaking Dawn, releasing on DVD and Blu-ray this coming weekend. A genius of a promotion I say!
The invitation to watch a sneak peek of Breaking Dawn, Part 2. Buying the DVD of Part 1 at midnight. Including replicas of the flowers at Edward and Bella’s wedding – a nice touch. Well played, Target.
Re-occupy Occupy Honolulu
That didn’t long. Those participating in Occupy Honolulu were cleared out of Thomas Square on Friday. On Saturday, this is what I saw.
Reading About Iolani’s New Sullivan Center
Ground Floor. Collaboration, Exploration, Design, Innovation, and Application happen here.
Second Floor. Discovery, Research, and Inquiry happen here.
Third Floor. Community, Creativity, and Collaboration happen here.
Fourth Floor. Design, Solutions, and Application happen here.
Rooftop. Sustainability, Collaboration, and Entrepreneurship happen here.
These are just some of the highlights describing the new Sullivan Center coming to the campus of Iolani in 2013. A very impressive addition I must say!
How Do You Slow Down Blake Griffin?
You hug him of course! So by now, you’ve seen the Clippers’ Blake Griffin posterize Kendrick Perkins with his ferocious throw down.
The Thunder’s big man couldn’t stop Blake, but were you watching after the dunk? Clippers center, DeAndre Jordan, hugged Blake, and it took him awhile to break free from the embrace.
New Hunger Games Trailer
A new trailer for The Hunger Games is out. A few new shots but still lots of scenes from the Reaping. The pictures of the Capitol are interesting, and there are a few views of a stylized Katniss.
Hat tip to the Red Band Project. The games begin on March 23, 2012.
Hip Can Be Old
Hip doesn’t have to be new, even the old can be hip. Like this picture I took a month ago that only now made its way to the Hipster Popular Page. Do you see the airplane in the skies above the Ko Olina Beach Lagoon?
Smooth Criminal
Anyway it’s been done and redone, Michael Jackson’s Smooth Criminal is a great song.
Be it the original done by MJ.
Alien Ant Farm’s rocking cover.
The explosive classic rendition by the 2CELLOS.
And most recently on GLEE with an appearance by the 2CELLOS.
Sorry, GLEEks, while Santana and Sebastian did an adequate job, I think the 2CELLOS had to be muted since they were blowing Smooth Criminal out of the water!
What’s Your Anna Miller’s Contribution?
Had to chuckle at this one. While doing some basic background research on Anna Miller’s, I got these results from Google’s Image Search. Hey, is that my old kitchen counter pictured?!?
Yes, sure enough, it is my old counter under the Anna Miller’s pie tin. So I can now claim that I’ve contributed in defining Anna Miller’s on the Internet. 🙂
But I still don’t know what’s so special about their pie tins that require a deposit.
