Ready to Run
Loving my Zappos-bought Nike Zoom Structure Triax+, the 14th edition of this stability running shoe. I’ve owned and run in a few Triax over the years so my feet were accustomed to the shoes’ shape and feel. Right out of the box, I could comfortably run in them without needing a break in period.
This 14th version adds FlyWire to provide additional stiffness and support without adding weight or bulk to the shoe. And for running shoes, these actually look pretty good, especially with the high contrast white and grey laces.
Looking for Pink Headlights?
I’m guessing pink headlights in cars are perfectly legal (though still irritating to oncoming drivers) since you can readily purchase kits to customize your ride. Even good old Amazon sells these kits at an affordable price.
Focusing on Pulp Stability
After another rash of stability issues with Pulpconnection, I hopefully made some changes for the better. First, I deleted unused and deactivated plugins. Then I installed more plugins that address WordPress performance issues. I know, I know, installing more plugins…
Here’s what I added:
- WP Widget Cache. Seemed harmless enough to eek out some improvements in the sidebar area.
- Revision Control. To reduce the number of drafts WP saves for each post and thereby reducing database bloat.
- WP DBManager. An easy interface to the underlying mySQL database behind WordPress. Allows for database backups and optimizations.
- Hypercache. I was content with Quick Cache, but it was difficult to tell if it was working. So I’m trying out Hypercache.
I also bumped up the RAM allocation to my virtual server by just a tad and increased the memory allocated to WP to 96 MB. Hope this brings some stability and better site performance.
Rad Rider… in Heels!
I definitely did a double take when I saw this motorcycle rider on the road. The rider is a she who’s wearing high heels!!
What are those red coverings on her toes? Are they to help keep her heels on? Are they to protect her feet? Whatevers but I do like the red and white color coordination going on with the overall look.
Get Your Hawaii’s Ohana Cookbook
Available at the end of September is the new Hawaii’s Ohana Cookbook. Here’s what you can expect from this collection of local recipes:
There are time-saving dishes created by working moms and dads so other families can have an easier time finding that special balance between work and play.
If you look good, you’ll see a contribution or two from Wokintime, now known as The Unseasoned Wok. You can get a copy from the Mutual Publishing store location or order one through the mail.
House and A Mouse
This week, courtesy of Starbucks Pick of the Week, comes House and a Mouse. That would be Hugh Laurie who stars in House M.D. and SPY Mouse which also happens to be the App Store’s Game of the Week.
Stop by your neighborhood Starbucks, pick up a drink, toast the good fortunes of others, and get yourself a House and a Mouse for free.
Good Luck, Sara and Ryan

Life awaits! Â No regrets.
Cheers!
Burned Through the City of Ashes
The second book in the Mortal Instruments series, the City of Ashes, started slowly. But the storyline ignited midway through and was a firestorm of action the rest of the way. Can the City of Glass maintain the heat?
