These are the stories you hope to happen to you one day. Two NBA fans and Twitter users were not believers of THE_REAL_SHAQ on Twitter. Could that really be Shaq Fu or just a 5-4, 14-year old poser? They found out the Twitter way after a chance Tweetup with the Shaqilicious.
Read their story and see their pics. And yeah, blogging about meeting Shaq is good for the ratings.
Thanks to @coachdean for the lead.
Steve Wozniak, the other “steve” of Apple, is ready to waltz in Season 8 of Dancing with the Stars. He’s paired with Karina Smirnoff who recently married other DWTS alum, Maksim Chmerkovskiy. Does Woz have what it takes outside of the tech arena? Will the geeks maximize their wardialing and multiple email accounts to vote for one of the founders of Apple? Please have pity!
DWTS starts on March 9.
You probably already saw the reported picture of a battered Rihanna. If you haven’t, you can go here. It’s brutal.
My recently installed SDV tuning adapter failed me tonight during UH’s win over Fresno State in men’s hoops. The cable signal just stopped, and I wasn’t receiving all the stations. Weirdly enough, the freebie HD channels were there (1003, 1006, 1007, etc) but nothing else. After being on hold with Oceanic for a long time, the rep told me to disconnect and reconnect the USB cable.
That did the trick. Didn’t have to power cycle the actual unit. Pretty random and strange “outage” that only affected some stations. At least the Rainbows won though I missed most of the game.
Even though the second movie installment of the Twilight saga is still months away, New Moon has officially launched its new logo. Get ready for a bunch of stuff adorned with this.
Starting in April, keep an eye out for new variations of Pepsi and Mountain Dew. Instead of using High Fructose Corn Syrup (HFCS), there will be a line of Pepsi and Mountain Dew made with real sugar. These pure sugar drinks will be tagged “Throwback” and have a different label.
These Throwbacks will only be available during a very limited time so you might have to load up if the taste is that much better.
Since Starbucks’ new instant coffee, the Via Ready Brew, won’t be available around these parts for some time, you can learn more about making instant coffee the Starbucks way from this YouTube video.
How about this for gender equality? GoGirl has introduced a female urination device (FUD) which allows them to pee while standing up. Not quite a urinal for guys, but this silicone product is portable and even reusable after cleaning.
Here’s how GoGirl is described on Twitter:
Simply put, GoGirl is the way to stand up to disgusting or non-existent bathrooms. It’s a female urination device which allows women to pee standing up. When could you have used one?
Who’s getting a GoGirl?
And keeping with the social networking movement, you can also find GoGirl on Facebook, Twitter, and Flickr.
Kanye West continues to produce great music infused with creativity. But behind this musical creativity is Kanye’s drive for greatness fueled by his addiction to sex!? Yep, according to Mr. West himself, his sexual addiction funneled into other endeavors is key to his success.
So those looking to leave their mark on the world, you may want to heed Kanye’s advice.
Starbucks has officially launched its new instant coffee line called the VIA Ready Brew. You know the drill – just add hot water, and you’re ready to go. But Starbucks claims that VIA actually resembles coffee.
Don’t believe the caffeinated hype? Try VIA yourself (if you hurry), and get a free sample mailed to you by filling out this form. Otherwise, VIA costs $3 for a pack of 3 or $10 for a 12 pack.
And follow @Starbucks on Twitter for lots of updates. I asked if VIA was available in Hawaii yet, but not until later this year. 🙁
How did your Valentine’s Day go? Not good? Did you try all four ways of expressing your love? Yes, the classic four ways of saying “I love you” – buying expensive diamonds, going on a tropical vacation, carving your initials in a tree, and the newest way, buying a Cisco ASR 9000 router! Yes, getting your sweetheart the $250,000 ASR 9000 is THE cutting edge way of professing your undying love.
Doesn’t your heart flutter hearing about transferring 6.4 terabits per second, 400Gbps per slot, and 6x mobile backhaul capacity?! Who knew Cisco held the key to every woman’s heart?
