Hamburger Steak at Big City Diner
Couldn’t finish the hamburger steak plate with kim chee fried rice from Big City Diner.

Although dessert did follow… 🙂

This one street in Kaneohe takes its Christmas lights seriously. Almost every house was decorated and lit up unlike this one Mililani home from back in the day. Cars cruised by, families walked the street, and even tour trolleys made visits!
Some shots taken with a Canon EOS Rebel T1i.
My small collection of memorabilia from Hawaii businesses.
The rebranding of AIG Hawaii to Farmers Insurance Hawaii is coming up in January 2010. They have some little goodies ready to go with the launch.
And they light up! Oooohhhh!
From the previous merger between City Bank and Central Pacific Bank (CPB) comes this distinctive blue bench.
And of course, don’t forget the collection of Club 939 calendars. Autographed too!
The Club 939 calendar for 2010 unleashes this week!
While driving along South Beretania, you might notice a business called Amy’s Haven. Unfortunately, this legit business has one of those questionable online domain names. What’s the URL for Amy’s Haven? None other than amyshaven.com.
In any case, amyshaven is on the social media bandwagon with Twitter, Blogger, and Facebook. But what a URL…
When aural pleasures won’t do, and you need big pieces o’ octopus, head to Shirokiya. They got you covered with big pieces of octopus.
Why and what for, I don’t know.
My all-time favorite Christmas song is Willie K’s version of O Holy Night (Po Hemolele). This song starts off the Christmas holidays for me.
Then I heard that Natalie Ai Kamauu does an excellent rendition as well. Lo and behold, Natalie sings O Holy Night on her new Christmas CD, love & peace and unity.
Note: love & peace and unity is now available on iTunes for $9.99. Sure beats the $14 I paid for the CD at Walmart. Buy from
What’s your holiest of the O Holy Nights?
Last we saw my off-roading mailman, he was making his postal deliveries, pushing his driving abilities to their maximum to minimize his physical exertion. Today was not his day. Maybe he tried to cut a corner too precisely. Maybe he saw a more efficient angle that would save him milliseconds. Maybe the home owner trimmed the hedge confusing the mental layout of the mail carrier’s path. Whatever the case, there was a casualty in the form of a busted flower pot.
I can’t wait for the next exciting episode of the Adventures of the Off-Roading Mailman!
Power went out, partially at first, now completely. Might as well call it quits for the day.
Lots of stars visible in the sky though. Peaceful.
Windward Mall has their faux show of snow again in the center of the mall. At the top of every hour, you can play with the soapy snow during a 15-minute snowfall. The kids love it.
After the snow, you can get a froyo at the recently opened yogen fruz.
I’m not so much a fan of the blend-your-own flavor of froyo at the fruz. I prefer the more exotic flavored ‘gurts at Yogurtland or Orange Tree.
The Honolulu Police Department has their wall of shame up for those arrested Operating a Vehicle Under the Influence of an Intoxicant (OVUII). You can see the inaugural offenders here. Do you know any of them?
Oh, and some of the pics are classic. Is Banery doing the shaka in his pic?
Don’t forget that CourtConnect is also available to lookup traffic violations.
Refreshing and light were my first thoughts biting into a California Crab wrap from Wraps and Rolls Hawaii.
But first, full disclosure that this wrap is regularly priced at $2.90, but I received it free as a gift.

The Wraps and Rolls Hawaii menu features more than just wraps, and they just opened a second location at Ward (in the former Ben and Jerry’s location).
You can follow them on Twitter at @wrapsandrollshi.
