Passing on Technorati Link Count
In Technorati’s latest newsletter, they announced their new Link Count Widget. Add a snippet of code to your blogging software, and you’ll see how many times your posts have been linked to. Kinda cool to see who’s referencing your material (if you got anyone linking to you that is). Otherwise, it’s depressing to see no link counts to your articles.
That’s why I removed it from Pulpconnection. Nah, I did test it out but couldn’t make it fit into the look of the site, and it did seem to really slow down the rendering of Pulpconnection (I guess every post had to connect to Technorati for an updated link count).
So for now, good idea, but I’ll pass.

Mario Lopez Coming to Hawaii
Reigning champ of Dancing with the Stars, Cheryl Burke, is going to be in Hawaii in about a week, and on December 11, runner up Mario Lopez will also be making a Hawaiian appearance at the Reef Check Hawaii Run for the Reefs Luau.
He’ll be joining host Kelly Hu and other stars like Carl Lewis, Kelly Slater, Jason Scott Lee, Daniel Dae Kim, and more. A VIP invitation that includes a pre-event reception with the stars goes for $500 per person. So if you want to harass Mario in person about finishing in second place, be ready to dole out that cash.

Nike As You Like It
Saw this Nike running shoe the other day, and I like it. It’s called the Nike Azulikeit which I assume is pronounced “as you like it.” Saw the blue one but the other color ways are something to see. Some old school feel to it with styling from the Air Max 90 “Infrared” but with newer school technology.

The Power of Oprah
I continue to be amazed at the power and influence of Oprah. On Friday, she flew to LA to tape her show with the main crew from Grey’s Anatomy. Here’s the funny intro to that episode.
Then at the end of the show, she arranges for Best Buy to give each member of the remote audiences in Seattle, Chicago, and New York a 30GB video iPod so that they can download and watch Grey’s Anatomy. The power of Oprah.

XBox 360 for $100?
The Sony Playstation 3 selling for $600, the Nintendo Wii debuting today at $250, and the Microsoft Xbox 360 going for $100? That’s right. Amazon is having a special limited sale on Thanksgiving day selling the Xbox 360 Core System for only $100.
Regularly, this gaming console goes for $300, but Amazon is holding a special customers vote where customers can determine what item they want to go on sale.
Special ordering rules apply and there may be an issue for shipping to Hawaii and Alaska.
To get a head start on this crazy sale, I already started camping out in front of my computer waiting for the sale to start. I have a BB pellet proof vest, mace, and riot control gear just in case any action goes down.

PS3 Mania!
This is getting out of hand. As lines of people start forming to get their PS3, there’s all kinds of craziness happening. There’s already been a (BB gun) shooting, robberies, and a Wal-mart shutdown.
Now, people are hiring homeless people to wait in line for them. Going rate is $100 a day.

Use Gmail as a Spam Filter
Now why didn’t I think of this? You can use Gmail to stop spam for any email account, not just Gmail accounts. This involves forwarding email to Gmail then getting it back from Gmail (kinda tricky), but it sounds like a winning plan.
