Get Your Hawaii’s Ohana Cookbook
Available at the end of September is the new Hawaii’s Ohana Cookbook. Here’s what you can expect from this collection of local recipes:
There are time-saving dishes created by working moms and dads so other families can have an easier time finding that special balance between work and play.
If you look good, you’ll see a contribution or two from Wokintime, now known as The Unseasoned Wok. You can get a copy from the Mutual Publishing store location or order one through the mail.
House and A Mouse
This week, courtesy of Starbucks Pick of the Week, comes House and a Mouse. That would be Hugh Laurie who stars in House M.D. and SPY Mouse which also happens to be the App Store’s Game of the Week.
Stop by your neighborhood Starbucks, pick up a drink, toast the good fortunes of others, and get yourself a House and a Mouse for free.
Burned Through the City of Ashes
The second book in the Mortal Instruments series, the City of Ashes, started slowly. But the storyline ignited midway through and was a firestorm of action the rest of the way. Can the City of Glass maintain the heat?
Word of the Day: Suffused
Today’s word of the day is suffused:
gradually spread through or over
It’s lunchtime, and I must be hungry since all I can think about is some warm bread suffused with peanut butter and jelly although I know that’s not the correct usage of suffused. I must let the definition of suffused suffuse in my head to come up with a better example.
Starbucks & iTunes Pick of the Week App
Look what made its way to your neighborhood Starbucks. It’s the new and free Pick of the Week App from the iTunes Store. The inaugural app is none other than the amazingly useful Shazam Encore.
Although it is a bit tricky tapping in the redemption code on an iPhone, you can, of course, always redeem the app’s code using iTunes on your computer.
Word of the Day: Bole
I forget the context of bole so it could either be:
the trunk of a tree
or
a fine, compact, earthy clay
Meh, kind of a boring word to use in everyday conversations or the workplace. And that’s no hyperbole!

But Can You Ball in These?
Check out these new kicks from Adidas. These “shoes” are made to mimic your natural foot (along with some added cushioning) and are supposed to help your overall fitness routine. But can you ball in these? No, since the Adipure Trainers are strictly training shoes. Besides, you’d be laughed off the court if you wore them.
But for fitness training purposes, these are intriguing and have more athletic stylings than the Vibram Five Fingers. For the cost ($90), I think I’d stick with the more traditional kicks like the Nike Free series, but I’m willing to giving these a try.
The Mortal Instruments Becomes a Tetralogy
The Mortal Instruments trilogy has become a tetralogy with the addition of the City of Fallen Angels.
I didn’t know another book was in the works after The City of Glass. Surprise, surprise!
In the name of the Angel…

Listening to Motivation
My new fave song right now is Kelly Rowland’s Motivation. Didn’t know who sang this hit until SoundTracking ID-ed it for me. And I just looked up the lyrics. Whoa.
If you know the lyrics, the video is an appropriate match. Let it motiviate you!
