Blackberry -> Windows -> Scary
As an Apple fan, I associated Blackberries with Windows. And with Windows, I associate these videos.
Downright scary!

Another New Moon trailer that makes the movie look, well, like a movie.
Thanks to the swooning Jessica for the find.
I didn’t expect Jay-Z’s latest release, Blueprint 3, to be a daily special on Amazon, but there it is. For today only, get this beat-filled masterpiece for only $3.99!
Run This Town and D.O.A (Death of Autotune) already have airplay. Empire State of Mind has an awesome chorus by Alicia Keys. I prefer the beats of Off That over On To the Next One, and the A Star is Born turns up the RPMs a bit. Reminder is just that, a reminder of who’s still on the top of his game. Young Forever has an interesting sample of Forever Young. All in all, a solid addition to your music collection.
Norah Jones was supposed to perform at the Hawaii Writers Conference but had to cancel due to poor sales of the $100-500 tickets. The conference itself took place, just without the gala fundraiser featuring Jones.
Although Norah couldn’t perform in the Aloha state, she definitely landed on her feet this week, performing at Apple’s Special Event that featured the return of Steve Jobs.
I’m hoping her Apple appearance had nothing to do with her Hawaii cancellation.
SLAM’s annual Kicks issue is out. Derrick Rose is rocking his Adidas on the cover, but for me, the return of the And1 Tai Chi is way cooler. Get your kicks fix now.
The Star Bulletin preview of this year’s UH football team has this great spoof of the Macworld magazine. Yep, it’s Mackworld with Head Coach Greg McMackin on the cover. Got to love the computer themed titles.
And lest you forget, Mack 2.0 is more sensitive and understanding.
The day before the premiere of Glee, the series has released additional songs to purchase on iTunes.
Get Lea Michele’s cover of Take a Bow.
Or check out the entire crew doing the classic Push It.
If you can wait, the Glee musical collection will release on November 3.
Quick, what are your guesses of the top three social media sites used by corporations for marketing purposes? Is is MySpace? How about Facebook? Is YouTube used?
My limited, unofficial research brought me across these sites:
Here’s the gallery of screen shots from these sites:
From these various sites, the most popular that are surfacing are Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter. This trio is becoming the big three of social media marketing used by companies to engage and interact with their customers.
But is there room for one more? The inclusion of iTunes (and the App Store) in the above samples is very interesting and could hint at Apple’s next move. No, I’m not suggesting that Apple enter the social media space to challenge the current contenders. That’s not Apple’s way. Historically, Apple only enters the fray when the company feels it can dominate the space or effectively change the game.
This is where Apple could make a definite impact, providing users with the preeminent means of engaging with social media. No, Apple should not make their own version of Facebook (sorry MobileMe), but instead get people connected to Facebook. As in mobile or desktop access to Facebook using an iPhone, iPod, or a Mac, as in publishing pictures to Facebook using iPhoto, as in sharing musical tastes with Facebook using iTunes, as in sharing movies on Facebook using iMovie, as in feeding other content to Facebook via integration with an iPhone app. Same with YouTube, iMovie ’08 included exporting to YouTube, the recent iPhone 3GS supports mobile movie uploads to YouTube, and now Snow Leopard’s QuickTime X can export to YouTube straight from the OS. You see a trend here?
By approaching the social media space not as a service, but as a connector to these services, Apple can change the game and really ingrain itself in the social media landscape. That is Apple’s way.
There’s yet another vampire inspired series coming to television. Starting Thursday, September 10, the Vampire Diaries is coming to the CW.
Checking out the previews, good looking humans and vampires interact, there’s unattainable love, and danger ensues. Where have I heard that before? There’s obviously some Twilight (did you recognize that outside gazebo lighting scene?), some Buffy, and some Angel.
What a complete knockoff! I’m so there!!
Team Jacob is front and center for Twilight’s New Moon. If you’re not a fan of the pale skin of vampires, you’ll appreciate the tone, tan bods of the wolves. GoTeamJacob.com
Gleeks already know of the great music from the upcoming series Glee so why not give the musical gift of Glee this coming holidays? Starting November 3, you can buy the first volume of Glee: The Music and share it with your friends for Christmas.
Nothing says the holidays like Don’t Stop Believin’, Somebody to Love, Sweet Caroline, and Gold Digger!
Updated: Here’s the complete track listing for Glee: The Music, Volume 1
