Sharing Off White Dunk Episode 1
Just for a measure of good luck, I’m sharing the first episode that introduces the upcoming Off White take on the classic Dunk.

My next running shoe started with this IG post.
Finding this shoe wasn’t that straightforward since it’s not widely available. It was sold out on Brooks, and Dicks Sporting Goods would charge shipping to Hawaii. But a Google search found this available on Zappos, and Zappos offers an educational discount. Yes, kinda expensive, but I haven’t had recent luck with Nike running shoes.
The React Infinity Run 2 has been a disappointment in its second rendtion. The very first React Run was absolutely great but another colorway oddly wasn’t as good. I returned the Pegasus 38 since it was nothing special. Most recently, I got the Invincible Run, but that foam stack feels so unstable. It’s extremely cushioned but I get the sensation that I could topple over merely walking in them.
So I’m gonna give these Brooks Aurora-BL a chance based on this performance review and hope this Brooks combination of design, tech, and materials is right for me.
Although I’m a fan of the Marvel movie universe, I don’t know all the references that connect the various films. That’s why I never caught on to “on your left” until I coincidentally saw the two key scenes recently. I’m talking about these scenes.
The introduction is when Steve Rogers continually laps Sam Wilson during a morning run, saying “on your left” as he passes by.
Then in Endgame as a beaten Captain America gets ready for one more round with Thanos and his army, it’s Steve who hears “on your left” as spoken by Sam as the revived heroes start portaling in to join Cap for an epic sequence.
Releasing on Friday, April 23, 2021, are these Nike SB Dunk High Pro themed after Hawaii.

This island-inspired SB Dunk High features a traditional floral print to capture Hawaiian vibes—but that’s not all. The first layer of material tears away over time, revealing surprises that further contribute to the shoe’s oceanside motif, including shaggy green suede and a palm tree print.
From SNKRS.
While I like the nod Nike has given to Hawaii, I’m personally not feeling the “Hawaii” vibe of these Dunks. Even though the insole features artwork of volcanoes and nene goose, the design of the upper reminds me of a bad aloha shirt. I mean that pattern doesn’t scream aloha crisp to me. Now if the shoe featured a reverse print Reyn Spooner design, then the it’d be ready for the streets of Hawaii.
But then again, these “Maui Wowie” are made for 420 (but not dropping on April 20th), so I guess the inspiration of the design isn’t meant for the general audience. Of course, I’ll try for the Hawaii Dunks on SNKRS (at 4am HST), and it would be nice if Nike gave preference to those who live in the Aloha State. How about a local SNKRS Stash/Pass at the old Niketown location in Waikiki?

Images of the under layer can be seen in this post.

As interesting as the NBA Top Shot “virtual cards” are, today’s release of a special Holo pack containing rare, legendary moments was just too much for me at $999. For that price, you get 10 cards:
The value of these ten moments match the cost of the pack, but still, I’m thinking the price of this pack is too ahead of this nascent market. But then again, seeing how collectibles are really taking off, who knows what this pack (and its contents) might be worth a year from now.
I’ll stick with the common packs that are somewhat expensive at $9 a pack.
They release three shoes… all on the same morning, all with some level of demand.

There are two Air Jordans with a metallic gold color, one in the OG high silhouette and the second is a mid with lots more gold accents. Adidas and Kanye West, on the other had, are re-releasing the Yeezy 500 in Utility Black. Not sure how that’s “cyber” but regardless, a well received shoe.
Courtesy of Costco comes these Beats PowerBeats3 Wireless earbuds that are sweat and water resistant for workouts. I don’t know much about this product other than Costco is clearing them out for $49.97 (regular price around $99).

Seems like reviews say this wireless earbuds has a problem with it suddenly stop working, these are from Costco where I’ve seen some ridiculous returns. And at $50, the investment isn’t very steep.
I was wondering why the site was so slow this morning.

Hopefully, I can get one or two of these Chargers next week!
Athough touted as a $6 combo for the McDonalds x Travis Scott meal, Hawaii residents are paying a $1 more.
Will that $7 price tag deter you from that 1150-calorie meal?
Growing up, Travis Scott’s favorite meal at McDonalds was this:
Starting this Tuesday, September 8, you too can experience Travis’ faves at McD. For one month, this $6 collab is gonna clog the drive thru lines and your arteries.
