Christmas Song Classics: Chanukah Song
Okay, okay, not strictly Christmas, and I’m not too familiar with other religious Holiday traditions, but I do enjoy Adam Sandler’s Chanukah Song (Parts 1, 2, and 3). So you won’t be mistaking Adam’s rhyming skills with that of Emimem, but educating listeners about Chanukah he does. And if you had to rhyme “Chanukah,” I bet “playing the harmonica” and the “Seattle Supersonicas” sound pretty darn good.
Take it away Adam…
It’s Time.
It’s time, time to bring out an annual Christmas tradition. Long time fans know what I’m talking about. It’s time for the infamous Christmas Gift Prank.
Go ahead, give it a play (or two), show your coworkers and your friends. Laugh, be merry. Mimic the sayings and doings of the video. Do that left handed throw of disgust. Scream out, “Upgrade!” Try to contain that genuine frown of disappointment. Go ahead and try. Then laugh, laugh freely as most of us in the video. Be merry.
Krey-Z Oshiro’s Top 3 Broadcasters
On this morning’s Island 98.5 show, Krey-Z Oshiro named his top 3 (female) broadcasters. I forget the exact order but his list went something like this:
- Olena Heu
- Stephanie Lum* (with honorable mention to Cindy Paliracio)
- Yasmin Dar
Reminds me of the previous Listmania: Hottest Local Newscasters. Such memories…
Sci-Fi Fans Unite!
There is a common threat to sci-fi fans throughout the universe, and George “Mr. Sulu” Takei has taken the responsibility to unite feuding Star Wars and Star Trek fans. Heed his message…
Ready for the Lunar Eclipse?
Are you ready to view the upcoming total lunar eclipse this weekend? It’s your last chance at a full eclipse until 2014. Wake up early on Saturday morning, and maybe you’ll see a reddish-orange moon, maybe you’ll see a supersized moon, or maybe you won’t see the moon at all.
Don’t worry, viewing a lunar eclipse is safe but to enhance the mood of this rare phenomenon, I suggest bringing a boombox with you and play Bonnie Tyler’s Total Eclipse of the Heart. As the totality of the eclipse nears, keep chanting “turn around, turn around.” Trust me, that’ll surely be a memorable event!
Gotta Love My Coworkers
What a day at work today. The highlight had to have been a trail of email that went nowhere. You know that cliche on how Americans talk to non-English speaking foreigners? Speak loudly and slowly, and the English language miraculously becomes universally understood.
Yeah, the email trail was virtually like that. I got a denied request since a few things needed corrections per a linked instruction manual. My boss asked for assistance (to clarify what exactly was incorrect with my request). But the email response said that there was something wrong with my request and use the instruction manual to figure out what. Umm, yeah, that regurgitation of the original email was really helpful.
Gotta love my coworkers! 😐
Holiday Pop Tarts Spotted
Saw these new Holiday-themed Pop Tarts at Walmart. These are limited editions with images printed on the some of the varieties. I bought the Pumpkin Pie Pop Tarts since they seem less scary than the printed ones. Haven’t tried them yet.

Holiday Gift Guide: Flavored Lip Balm
Original flavor? Boring. Strawberry? Meh. Spearmint? That’s so banal. Cherry? Sophomoric like Katy Perry when it comes to lip balm flavors. When you need a stocking stuffer that’s different, gift these flavored lip balm!
Affordably available at your nearby Price Busters.
I Can Has Schweddy Balls
I can now cross it off my To Do list. Yes, I have tasted Schweddy Balls.

This test ice cream flavor has been available at Ben & Jerry’s in Windward Mall for some time, but I never had the opportunity to sample the sweetness. So what do Schweddy Balls taste like? Kinda like vanilla. The rum balls are naughtily good but then the malt balls are confusing. Nibbling into the balls, you expect the tinge of rum. But then you get a airy rice crispy-like malt ball, and you’re like, “Whoa, what’s this?”
I’m guessing that the Schweddy Balls will be a limited run that won’t endure. So if you want to sample Schweddy Balls, my suggestion is to taste them sooner rather than later.
