Some recent promotions I’ve seen or heard about.

  • Buffmama.org. Saw the Buffmama mobile driving around, so I had to look it up. Buffmama is a personalized fitness trainer whose motto is “It’s not as hard as you think.”
  • Knockouts Haircuts for Men. Coming to Hawaii soon I suppose since there’s a truck driving around emblazoned with the Knockouts logo and models.
  • Who Is John Scott? You read the story about the 74-year old guy slapping stickers around that ask “Who is John Scott?” If I ever start making “What is Pulpconnection?” stickers, someone please stop me.

What Will Rod be Rockin’?

I thought Roderick Flemings’ gold TS Commander LT Adidas was going to be his kicks of choice for the season. But no, Rod has a surprise in store.

Flemings said he is waiting for his own “special order” to come in. “These shoes were just, uh, temporary,” Flemings said. “I got ’em over the summer (as a counselor at the adidas camp in Dallas). But you gotta wait to see the ones I’m going to wear this season.”

Can’t wait to see what Rod’s really gonna rock.

Some notes from the Bows first game. No names on the backs of jerseys. Interesting. Jeremy Lay looks like the second coming of Troy Bowe. Dwain Williams is a twig. Barring serious injuries, Hawaii can’t finish last in the WAC. Petras Balocka got to stop with those weak low post toss up shots. Rod was golden with 23 and 12 though against overmatched opponents. Hawaii’s missing that mid range game Bill Amis would have provided.

Now More Sexy, More Intense, With More Satisfaction

Greetings! Pulpconnection is now more sexy, more intense, with more satisfaction. At least with WordPress plugins that is. In a never ending voyage with WordPress and its limitless plugins, I’m experimenting with a few new ones after previous additions and deletions.

Freshly added are:

  • Intense Debate. A replacement commenting system that supports its own plugins, spam protection, and integration with Twitter and Facebook.
  • WP Greet Box. Not sure if I’ll keep this around but seems helpful to get new readers to subscribe.
  • SexyBookmarks. Another social bookmarking system, but this one looks sexy! Near the end of each post, look for the below graphic.

  • Get Satisfaction. As seen on many sites, but not sure if this is a keeper for Pulpconnection. Get Satisfaction as a service is very cool, but not sure if it’s a match for Pulp readers. See the Feedback tab on the left side.

And as I learned the hard way, I need to balance all this plugin bling with overall performance of Pulpconnection. Can’t have the site crash with all this sexy, intense satisfaction.

Finally, a small but much needed change to iTunes. Now you don’t need the iTunes application installed on your Mac or PC to check out what’s available in the iTunes Store. All you need is a web browser thanks to iTunes Preview.
