UH Rolls Over LA Tech
Thanks to sponsorship of the Greatest Legal Mind Ever, it was a Bloggers’ night out watching UH roll over the Bulldogs of Louisiana Tech. The Bows finally beat the Bulldogs, 74 to 50, after losing six straight to them.
Also awarded the coveted Club 939 calendar personalized for Pulpconnection to the Tabasco Man who won the SuperBowl Sunday Giveaway.
Of course, international traveler, Wayne’s World, and Angry Asian Girl had to pass judgement on the models of 939. Wayne’s World likes October.
The basketball action was good, but the grinds and the ogling was better!

(Not My) Pics from the Kahala Apple Store Opening
Didn’t make it out to the grand opening of the Apple Store at Kahala Mall but found good pictures on Flickr of the unveiling. Also found a video of the hula blessing and a look at the line waiting to get in.
The store looks different than the Ala Moana store.
I like the black Kahala shirt given to the first 1000 people. Nice, I like these better than the white ones given out at the Ala Moana opening.

The Lost Storm Has Passed

Getting Hits from Lost Filming at Club 939
Saw some strange activity today when checking Pulpconnection stats. Had about 30 visits this morning alone when usually 30 hits is typical for the entire day. Looking further, a few Lost spoiler sites have picked up my coverage of Lost filming at Club 939 causing this spike of traffic.
So far, there have been 107 hits coming from Lost Spoilers and the Fuselage.
Got the Sennheiser MX75 Earphones
My search for replacement earphones is over. I was looking at the Sennheiser OMX70 clip-ons for running purposes, but then I came across the Sennheiser MX75 earphones and went with these instead. Same company, similar look, similar price, but this set of earphones has higher ratings on Amazon (4 stars versus 3 stars for the OMX70).
Instead of fitting in your ear canal or clipping to your ears, the MX75 uses an interesting twist-to-fit system to keep the earphones in place. Using the natural shape of your ear, you rotate the earphones in and use the extra “bumpers” to securely wedge them in your ear. Sounds weird, but it works and is easy to do!
I worked out and ran with the MX75 and had no problems of them getting loose or falling out. I had more problems with my previous clip on Nike headphones. Sweat didn’t matter either, these things did not budge. The earphones felt a bit big so I changed the bumpers to the smallest size. So far, so good.
Sound quality is good enough and as I wanted, you can still hear some noise from the surroundings for safety purposes. I recommend getting the Sennheiser MX75 Twist-To-Fit In-Ear Stereo Sport Headphones

Nike Factoid
Interesting little factoid about Nike’s sales. Nike has “96% of the market share in the $100 or more price point” meaning Nike owns the market for basketball shoes costing more than $100.
I can believe it, but I haven’t contributed to that figure in a long time. Maybe it’s time to get me some new Kobe’s? His new line of Weapons of War is one of the more intriguing shoes Nike has right now. Maybe the $140, killer whale-inspired Strengths?

New York State Senator Carl Kruger (D-Brooklyn) is looking to restrict this everyday, everywhere behavior. Now bloggers are speaking their mind. “[Y]ou can’t fix stupid” Nicely said.
Apple Store Opening in the Armpit of Cali?
Apple may be opening a retail Apple Store in the Armpit of Cali, better known as Fresno, California. While unconfirmed, there have been some job postings online for a location in the Fashion Fair mall (the one with Tommie’s Burgers).
This will give me something to check out the next time I’m in the neighborhood. I wonder what Fresno’s finest thinks about this prospect?

Silly, Sexed Up Musicians
Oh those silly, sexed up musicians! To keep that edge of musical creativity, they’ll do all kinds of crazy stunts. Up first is Genie in a Bottle, Christina Aguilera, who has “naked Sundays” with her husband of two years. It’s simple really, everything the couple does at home on Sundays is done naked.
And then, there’s the Purple Majesty himself, good ole Prince rocking the halftime show of SuperBowl XLI. I liked his performance playing some great songs including a cover of the Foo Fighters’ Best of You, but did you catch that giant shadow of him and his guitar? Sure looked like an endorsement for that blue pill if you ask me.

Even with a tightly censored halftime show, Prince still managed to sneak in some naughtiness.
