Bklyngrl Headed West?
Did I hear right? Is Bklyngrl headed to the West Coast? Did the fear of a Microsoft Store in Times Square scare her away? Is she leaving the Big Apple, the Yankees, the Brooklyn Bridge, Broadway, and Central Park for the Bay Area, the Giants, the Golden Gate Bridge, Tookie Williams, and Union Square?
A Good Year for Apple
Okay, so it’s a little early to be reviewing this past year, but since BusinessWeek did their Best of 2005, I’ll come out and say it’s been a good year for Apple. The company’s stock is solid at $75 a share, and they have lots of creative products that are in high demand. And the buzz for the upcoming MacWorld Expo in January has already started.
I can count at least seven new members to the Mac family in 2005:
- The Tabasco Man
- Wayne’s World
- Kazuo
- Eric
- Shawna
- Harry
- Neal from 90
And you know what? Pretty much all of them owned some type of iPod before buying a Mac. Is the iPod Halo Effect for real? I think so.
I can’t wait to see what Steve Jobs has for 2006!

More Concerns for the Tabasco Man
Although a tough case of the hives still plagues the Tabasco Man, I am even more concerned with his medical treatment of steroids. Besides the strange side effects, now there’s a study that indicates that steroids may be addictive.
BusinessWeek Best of 2005
BusinessWeek is recapping its Best of 2005 in its latest issue. Steve Jobs was named one of the Best Business Leaders while the iPod Nano was one of the Best Products of 2005. Lots of cool stuff!
Also check out the slideshow about the year’s Best Ideas. Some of these sound familiar and oh too simple. There’s an on-line extra about the Buzzwords of 2005.

Honolulu Marathon 2005
Congratulations to Shannon and Dane for finishing the 2005 Honolulu Marathon!!
27,000 competitors came out for this year’s race along with first timer, Shannon, and repeat runner, Dane. We couldn’t let them run the course without cheering them on.
It was a sunny, cool morning and we setup shop at mile 22 as the runners made their way back from Hawaii Kai. Judy made signs for the fans to wave. I’ve never watched a marathon before and saw some neat things. Lots of runners dressed up in costumes. Crazy!! I saw:
- Supergirl
- Burger King
- A Polynesian warrior(?)
- Yoda
- A cross dresser
- A bride and groom
- and a bunch of other weird things
Interesting footwear as well. Dude was barefoot and this guy was hardcore.
The mess. Cups and sponges everywhere. What a cleanup duty!
The agony. Thought a few runners would collapse right in front of us. The sounds of ambulance sirens were frequently heard in the background. Some runners were limping and in obvious pain, but they kept on going.
Then at about 10:30, Shannon comes running up towards us. Dane was right behind. They both were looking good and strong at this stage. Then they were off and running headed towards the Finish Line. How exciting!
Next year, Mr. Club 939 said that he, his legal counsel, and some of his strippers dancers will be running to promote the club.
View lots more pictures from the 2005 Honolulu Marathon.

New for 2006 is a new coffee flavored Coca-Cola soft drink. Coca-Cola Blak will debut in France then hit the US.
It is a blend of unique Coke refreshment with the true essence of coffee and has a rich smooth texture and has a coffee-like froth when poured.
