Light Posting Over the Weekend

Probably will have few postings over the Thanksgiving weekend since we’ll probably be out fighting the crowds. So here are some blasts from the past to enjoy.

Nuclear War. Remember this fantastic game? It’s absolutely brutal. Breaks down morale and throws friendship out the window. With booster packs, Nuclear Escalation and Nuclear Proliferation. I still have Stew’s complete set which includes Digi’s favorite people, the Mr. Harrison musubi supergerm, and the infamous black dot top secret card. If anyone wants to experience this madness, let me know.

Happy Turkey Day

Happy Turkey Day to all! While we’re all feeding our faces, don’t fret about the extra calories. Avid viewer Kim swears by the French Diet, or as the magazine Marie Claire calls it, the Wine, Chocolate, and Cheese Diet. Forget about that low-fat, low-carb, low-sugar, low-taste stuff, eat well and be well following this diet.

So even with all the Holiday food, you too can still be in shape to work at Club 939.

No More Jessica and Nick

nickjessIt’s finally happened. Pop singer Jessica Simpson and former 98-Degreer Nick Lachey are separating after 3 years of marriage. Their “Newlyweds” reality show on MTV propelled these mid-tier stars over the top.

This is the mutual decision of two people with an enormous amount of respect and admiration for each other. We hope that you respect our privacy during this difficult time.

I loved the first season of the Newlyweds, but you could already see Nick was losing patience with Jessica. Word on the street is Jessica is looking for a down-to-earth guy. Not someone who’s one of the sexiest men alive and not a Cosmo top bachelor. Someone who’s brave, loyal, and optimistic. Someone who remains true to their friends and oh yeah, drives a fast car.

Apple to Offer "Instant On" Computers?

So Apple made a big financial deal to get NAND aka flash memory chips from several companies (NAND chips are used in the iPod Shuffle and Nano). Also Apple’s working closely with Intel since Intel will be inside future Macs.

Where’s all this going? The Motley Fool takes a crack at figuring out these dealings by predicting Apple’s working on computers that turn on instantly by using NAND chips and Intel technology.

Oprah’s Favorite Things!!


It’s that time of the year when The Oprah gives away loads of goodies to her studio audience. This show titled “Oprah’s Favorite Things” is like the hottest ticket around. Here’s the bounty for 2005.

I would scream her name and cry like a sissy if I got to be on this show. Thousands of dollars of free stuff? Let the hysteria begin!

Macy’s Night of Stars Sale

Braved the crowds to go to the Macy’s Night of Stars sale on Sunday night. I severely underestimated the interest in this special sale where everything in Macy’s was on sale. The store closed at 5pm then reopened at 6pm with people waiting to get in at every entrance.

There were free giveaways and special events like meeting Clifford the Big Red Dog and Hello Kitty. Crowds of people packed the store and lines at the registers were crazy! Even newscaster Darren Pai did some shopping. So many people were there, the store got hot and humid, and I thought I’d cramp up like a Michigan St. Spartan!

Four shopping bags, two free turkeys, and one tired baby later, we were done for the night.
