Rapper Kanye West and pop singer Mariah Carey lead this year’s Grammy nominations with eight each. Mariah’s up for album of the year with her Emancipation of Mimi and song of the year with We Belong Together. Kanye is also up for album of the year with Late Registration and song of the year with Gold Digger.
John Legend, a Kanye West protege, also received eight nominations.
I guess being at the Grammy nominations was one of the reasons why Mariah cancelled her Hawaii concert dates.
The editors of the New Oxford American Dictionary have selected “podcast” as the Word of the Year for 2005. Podcasts are like radio broadcasts that you download from the Internet and listen to on your computer or your music player like an iPod.

Went to Ala Moana this past Sunday where there was lots to see.
The Rain. Where did this downpour come from? The drainage system was backed up and water was even shooting out of the drains! Outside of Barnes & Noble was flooded. Add some lights and music and you’d get the fountain at Bellagio. Check out the lower parking level – flooded.
