Why let loose 250,000 brightly-colored super bouncing balls in the streets of San Francisco? Why, for a new Sony commercial introducing their new Bravia line of LCD televisions that’s why.
Still pictures of this event are available. Actual commercial video coming soon is now available.
Okay, the Hottest Local Newscaster Listmania is now over. Thanks to everyone who voted and commented!
According to you, the top two hottest local newscasters are Stephanie Lum and Dave Erickson, both from KHNL.
Here are the final voting results.

More stats and analysis.
Stephanie Lum started with an early lead and kept it (maybe something about marathon runners being hot). Dave Erickson jumped to second place at the very end, followed by a bunch with three votes each. The anchor spot got the most votes and watch KHNL or KITV for friendly faces.
Update: Since the poll is done, check out the results here.
Suggested by the Tabasco Man after Wayne’s World saw Diane Ako, this listmania asks who’s the hottest local newscaster?

Someone’s list of free software (for the Mac) to use with your iPod.
Ultimate Freeware Package for your iPod.
Personally, I purchased iPodRip from The Little App Factory to manage my music on different computers.
Can it be? Yahoo news talks about the growing number of US workers who waste millions of hours online reading blogs.
this week that US workers would waste the equivalent of 551,000 years during 2005 reading blogs, online web diaries and gossip sheets
It’s a good thing I only spend time writing a blog. But I do read two of my favorite blogs, CCTWT and Wayne’s World.
This time, here are videos showing you how to backup DVDs to your Mac or to your iPod.
Is it me or is the video iPod causing a stir? There’s been so many articles about getting your own videos on to the new iPod. Looks like the making of the next killer app?
No sooner did I lament the absence of Rory Wild on I-94, he’s back from vacation just in time for Wicked Wahine Wednesday. I didn’t change the station or tune in my iPod. I just listened as the Wake Up Crew talked to Randy and PoK (the Pride of Kaneohe) about their Wicked Wahine hookup.
Rory knows how to build a story and set the stage. Was so entertaining that I had to speed through the H3 tunnel to get reception back so I wouldn’t miss anything.
Rory Wild of the 93.9 Wake Up Crew must be on vacation again, leaving Gregg Hammer, Natasha, and Krey-Z Oshiro to hold down the morning show. You know what that means? Tuning out and tuning in my iPod. Even Men Are Slime Tuesdays couldn’t hold my interest without Rory leading the way. Sorry Gregg, you still sound forced and unnatural as the lead DJ.
Speaking of iPods…
Did I mention I love my iPods? I got a “regular” iPod and a Shuffle which I use pretty much everyday. With the FM transmitting iTrip, I listen to my music while driving to and from work, especially when Rory Wild is on vacation. The Shuffle accompanies me during workouts.
A few other developments on the iPod front. Although I don’t have a Nano, there’s an iTrip for the Nano so Dr. Tall can listen to his podcasts and audiobooks while driving. I also came across an FM receiver for the iPod when you want to listen to FM radio broadcasts.
Ars Technica has yet another article about getting video onto the new video iPods. Covers both Mac and Windows tools.
And oh yeah, you don’t need an iPod to listen to music purchased via iTunes. You can listen to this music on your computer or burn CDs for your car stereo. Buying music from iTunes couldn’t be any easier or faster. Instead of buying the CD from the store, I purchased the new collection of Destiny Child’s #1’s greatest hits from iTunes and was listening to it in a matter of seconds. Way easy and convenient.
Thanks Steve Jobs. Speaking of whom…
