The Lost Storm Has Passed
The storm of activity due to the coverage of Lost at Club 939 is over. As of 9pm, there were over 200 visitors according to Sitemeter, coming from these main sources:
Thanks to Ryan Ozawa/pzarquon for breaking this post to Lost fan sites.
Here are some other related posts.
And who was lost at 939? Could it be this Nikki or that Nikki? Then again, the film could’ve all been erased due to an airport x-ray scan…

Getting Hits from Lost Filming at Club 939
Saw some strange activity today when checking Pulpconnection stats. Had about 30 visits this morning alone when usually 30 hits is typical for the entire day. Looking further, a few Lost spoiler sites have picked up my coverage of Lost filming at Club 939 causing this spike of traffic.
So far, there have been 107 hits coming from Lost Spoilers and the Fuselage.
Got the Sennheiser MX75 Earphones
My search for replacement earphones is over. I was looking at the Sennheiser OMX70 clip-ons for running purposes, but then I came across the Sennheiser MX75 earphones and went with these instead. Same company, similar look, similar price, but this set of earphones has higher ratings on Amazon (4 stars versus 3 stars for the OMX70).
Instead of fitting in your ear canal or clipping to your ears, the MX75 uses an interesting twist-to-fit system to keep the earphones in place. Using the natural shape of your ear, you rotate the earphones in and use the extra “bumpers” to securely wedge them in your ear. Sounds weird, but it works and is easy to do!
I worked out and ran with the MX75 and had no problems of them getting loose or falling out. I had more problems with my previous clip on Nike headphones. Sweat didn’t matter either, these things did not budge. The earphones felt a bit big so I changed the bumpers to the smallest size. So far, so good.

Sound quality is good enough and as I wanted, you can still hear some noise from the surroundings for safety purposes. I recommend getting the Sennheiser MX75 Twist-To-Fit In-Ear Stereo Sport Headphones.
Apple Store Opening in the Armpit of Cali?
Apple may be opening a retail Apple Store in the Armpit of Cali, better known as Fresno, California. While unconfirmed, there have been some job postings online for a location in the Fashion Fair mall (the one with Tommie’s Burgers).
This will give me something to check out the next time I’m in the neighborhood. I wonder what Fresno’s finest thinks about this prospect?

Here Comes the Kahala Apple Store
Grand opening of the Apple Store at Kahala Mall is set for Saturday, February 10. The store opens at 10am, and the first 1000 people get free t-shirts. There’ll also be a drawing to win a MacBook, Nano, and an iPod Hi-Fi sound system.
Are you going?

Disappointing Lost Blog from the Honolulu Advertiser
Last week, the Honolulu Advertiser announced they were adding a new blog to their blogging stable dedicated to the television hit Lost and focusing on its ties to Hawaii. Sounded pretty cool, so I decided to check out the “Lost” in Hawaii blog and its ONE entry! One entry! Uno, ichi, yat, hana! What’s with that?
I know the blogger, Caryn Kunz, says she’ll blog every week before and after each new episode, but if you’re going to launch a blog, how about having some content built up first to draw in the reader. Lost restarts this Wednesday, but how about talking about some of the previous episodes and its Hawaii influences? Like how Lost recently filmed at Club 939, and what that could imply for show plots? Or any other on-location filming Lost has done in Hawaii?
To separate from other blogs dedicated to Lost, “Lost” in Hawaii really needs to push the Hawaii scene and “insider” perspective. Find stories and pictures from local folks’ interaction with the show and the actors. Maximize the natural advantage we have with Lost filming in our own state.
A little disappointing start, but hopefully the “Lost” in Hawaii blog builds its content and a community for all of us other Losties in Hawaii.

Windward Mall Has a Pulse
Beep… beep… beep. Windward Mall actually has a pulse and is not dead yet. Massive renovations were planned and are almost complete giving this deathtrap a new chance at life.
Notable new additions include d.e.m.o., Lids, Sanrio, Journeys, Cinnamon Girl, and Clearwire. Don’t forget Ruby Tuesdays is already there, Farrell’s is open for business, and IHOP opens next week.
The Mall is getting another boost with the coming of a full sized Borders featuring a Starbucks cafe. At last, the only mall in Hawaii without a Starbucks is joining the caffeine addicted.
Inside the Filming of Lost at Club 939
The ABC hit, Lost, recently filmed on site at Club 939, and it went something like this. Sorry, no secrets or spoilers, just a behind-the-scenes view of the making of a television show.
In search for a local strip club for a future episode, the location crew of Lost visited several establishments before ending up at Hawaii’s Premier Gentlemen’s Club. Liking what they saw, several site surveys followed with progressively more senior staff getting involved and the executive producers giving the final go ahead.
Not to interfere with 939’s daily business, the Lost setup crew started their work after closing at 2am and finished by 6am when shooting was scheduled to begin. To support this on-location filming, there were many trailers for wardrobe, equipment, makeup, and even their own catering service.
Club 939 employees were allowed to try out at a casting call for extras. About ten members were selected for roles as dancers, bartenders, DJs, and club patrons (check out that tie).
After 4 hours of shooting scenes over and over at different angles, the day was finally done. In total though, this shoot will probably equal a few seconds of airtime on the show. But now, members of 939 can be considered official members of the Lost crew.
This episode will air near the end of March, and Club 939 will be having a viewing party. Keep watching Lost and look for upcoming talent from Club 939.

Ho’ing for Blogging Cash
Since bloggers are attention whores, I’m taking it a step further by actually trying to make some money blogging. Being a six-figure blogger would be ultra cool, but a few bucks here and there for new toys, kicks, or to pay for that caffeine addiction is fine.
Been looking around a bit at various advertisers and affiliate programs out there – there are a lot. I also want to match up ads with Pulpconnection material.
Google AdSense. Of course, you can start off with Google’s AdSense. It’s easy to do and use on your site.
BlogKits. I had signed up with BlogKits but haven’t used their ads since I switched to the new Blogger. I don’t like the look of their ads, but I’m sure I can customize it if I spend the time. Something I have to do…
Amazon Associates. Amazon has their Associates program where referred purchases earn revenue, not pay per click. I signed up but haven’t fully explored the program yet.
LinkShare. My latest venture is signing up with LinkShare. Why LinkShare? Mainly because they provide the affiliate program for Apple and the iTunes Store. Seeing how I refer to music using links to the iTunes Store and have mentioned some iMixes in the past, why not be an iTunes Affiliate? At the very least, this one should be fun, and look LinkShare has an affiliate program with FootLocker.

Lost at Club 939

Is there some dancing and a-strippin’ in a Lost character’s past?? We’ll have to wait and see when Lost starts up on February 7.
And don’t be surprised if you see see a familiar face or two during the show!
