Edward and Bella Getting Cozy
In Twilight’s Breaking Dawn, Edward and Bella are getting cozy.
And no, this scene wasn’t set in the back of a mini-van.
Rene Mansho Has Crazy Kicks
First off, big props to Rene Mansho for organizing the monthly Aloha Aina Earth Day events. This is a great way to recycle difficult items like old computers, batteries, etc. At the recent Castle High School event, Ms. Mansho showed off some crazy kicks. I don’t know how to describe them other than awesome!
Learning History Through Music
These Hawaii-based history teachers are on to something here. Why not teach history lessons mashed up with popular music tunes? Like learning about the French Revolution to Lady Gaga’s Bad Romance?
Hmmm, what to learn next? The Black Death to Gwen Stefani’s Hollaback Girl? The vikings to Depeche Mode’s Personal Jesus?

Note to Self: Must Try Gee… A Deli
Snapped this pic of a lunchwagon in Kailua called Gee… A Deli.
I gotta try this place one day. Never seen it before but this eatery has a history in Kailua and has solid Yelp reviews.

I Slowed Down in 2010
According to Nike+, I slowed down in 2010. For the year, I ran 179 miles but 286 in 2009. Here’s a comparison between 2009 and 2010.
What’s with the slowdown? A look at my monthly breakdown of runs might help.
Now I remember. In April and May, I had some medical work done so I didn’t run for awhile. In June, I went on an epic trip. Not sure what happened in August. Maybe I got sick? October was just a tough time. All that plus I got a stationary bike to ride on so that probably stole away some runs.
But overall, I did achieve the “blue” status in Nike+ surpassing 620 miles run.
Fishing at Hoomaluhia Botanical Garden
Our first time fishing at the Hoomaluhia Botanical Garden. It’s catch-and-release fishing where you use barbless hooks. Fish are aplenty (and so are the mosquitoes), but you need to hike about 20 minutes to the fishing lake. Fun for kids and adults.
Amazon’s Best of 2010
Amazon.com complied its lists of Bestselling Products, Most Wished for Products, and Most Popular Gift Products for 2010. From a quick glance, it looks like there are only two items that are on all three lists – Vulli Sophie the Giraffe Teether and the WiFi Kindle.
And there are some funny differences in what’s wished for and what’s gifted, like people wish for music from Taylor Swift but are gifted Susan Boyle instead. You want the eBook of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo but get George W. Bush. You want an Apple MacBook Pro 13-in but get a Toshiba Satellite 15-in laptop. Women want UGG short boots that range from $100-140 but are given Bearpaw Eva boots that cost $47-60.
Check out the entire lists here.
Signs of Hawaii: Park Art?
Do you consider this art or graffiti defacement at a local park?
I’m liking the planned out painted panorama featuring the angry pandas of Angry Woebot. Such detail make this artwork in my opinion.
