Twilight Well Stocked
Not sure if Borders is gearing up for a rush of purchases as the Twilight movie approaches, or if they just are overstocked.

Just testing out the new Amazon Site Stripe feature for affiliates. Makes it a lot easier to link to products available via Amazon and eliminates a lot of extra steps. I like it.
Here’s the new Twilight illustrated movie companion easily added using the Site Stripe.

After Week 4 of Dancing with the Stars, the competition is all Brooke, Lance, and Cloris(?!). Even after a too erotic samba (I guess there’s such a thing), Brooke Burke is still the leading lady, and Lance Bass is the only guy that can catch her. Even though Cloris Leachman won’t win the mirror ball trophy based on her dancing technique, she is disrupting the votes with her form of painful entertainment.
Everyone else (so far) is just carnage for the Brooke/Lance finals showdown. Rocco DiSpirito and Susan Lucci are soon to go. Unless Maurice Greene can really put things together, he’s not far behind. Who knows, Cloris may outlast these three.
Then there’s Toni Braxton, Cody Linley, and Warren Sapp. All three have potential but not enough to beat the top tier. Toni moves well, but I just don’t see her at the finish line. Cody has evaporated the advantage of Julianne Hough. The youngest professional dancer, Julianne had been paired with older dudes in past seasons, creating a fantasy of old guy and young hottie. Not so with Cody who’s even younger than Julianne. Now, this age thing is just icky. I love to watch the joy of Warren Sapp, and it’s amazing to see this huge guy who can’t easily fit through a doorway but can walk on his hands. But is he dancing elite?
My favorite performances from this week are: Brooke Burke’s erotic samba, Cloris doing the tango, and the goth Lacey and Lance.
Brooke Burke and Derek Hough’s too erotic samba with Brooke’s wardrobe adjustment at the 1:48 mark.
Cloris Leachman doing the tango that only she can do.
Lance and Lacey go gothic to Disturbia.

Finally finished the four-book Twilight saga by Stephenie Meyer. A great series about the supernatural meeting the human world with the telling of Edward and Bella’s story.
Up next is the movie to see if it accurately captures the Twilight essence.
And oh yeah, the set of books would make a good Christmas gift!

Whenever I’ve been to any zoo, it’s a tame affair. Most times, the animals are just lounging around, not doing much of anything – chewing some cud, swatting insects away, sleeping, or just looking bored behind the cages. During a recent visit to the zoo, there was a lot of “action” going on.
Let’s start with the hippos. Normally, I’ve seen hippos standing in the water with only their eyes, nose, and ears peeking above the waterline. Maybe there’s a blink or an ear twitch to observe, but not much more, except for this time. Who knew hippos liked to play ball?
Moving on, we came across this sign in front of the rhino exhibit.

Sure enough, the rhinos were “exhibiting.”

The rhinos weren’t that bad compared to this. Brace yourself for a shocking act of nature.
“Action” at the zoo for sure!

Only in Week 3 of Season 7 of Dancing with the Stars and already there’s some drama. Misty May-Treanor had to leave the competition due to a serious Achilles injury needing surgery. She won’t be back to the show this year but may make a cameo or even return for next season. This also means that her partner, Maksim Chmerkovskiy, is out. Even though Maks is gone for this year, he performed the jive choreographed for Misty with special guest Edyta Sliwinska.
With this unplanned exit, all dancers were safe this week, giving a second chance to Rocco DiSpirito who would have been eliminated under normal circumstances after receiving the lowest overall score. Rocco’s time is up, and he may very well be gone after this new opportunity though I can’t see how Cloris Leachman continues to move on. Like I said, watching Cloris dance is painfully entertaining.
Brooke Burke is starting to distance herself from the competition. Can you believe she got the first 10 score of the season and from Head Judge Len Goodman? Here’s their acclaimed Viennese Waltz.

Took a quick visit to the latest Apple Store in Hawaii located in the Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center. It is big and surprisingly empty. Not overrun with kids like the Ala Moana store and no local celebrities like the Kahala location. I wonder how the tourist traffic is faring?
The exterior lava rock facade looks awesome. There’s a metallic sheen to it, but each panel isn’t perfectly patterned like every other panel giving the store a strong but organic feel. Here’s a closeup of the lava rock material.

Hey, cool, educators can schedule a class field trip to this Apple Store where students can create projects using iLife or display their work in the store.
On the way to the Apple Store, I stopped by Island Vintage Coffee for a pick-me-up.

They have a good location at the junction point of the escalators of the renovated Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center. Reminder to self, stop getting dark chocolate-based coffee drinks. The dark chocolate is bittersweet making the drink, well, bittersweet.
Just pointing out a fact that of the collection of immortal vampires mentioned in Twilight’s Breaking Dawn, none of them are Asian. Irish, South American, Egyptian, Romanian, Italian, but none from the Asian countries. Asia does have “Children of the Moon” werewolves though – that was mentioned.
Wonder why no Asian vampires, unless you count Tia Tanaka? Similar golden eyes as the vegetarian Cullens. You see the similarity?

The official soundtrack from the Twilight movie is now set so you know what you’re pre-ordering. On November 4, your $9.99 will get you:
I may have to sample some singles before committing to buying the entire soundtrack. I know Linkin Park and Paramore’s Decode isn’t bad, but the rest?

What’s this? Dancing with the Stars contestant Misty May-Treanor may be out of the competition due to an injury requiring surgery?
What’s DWTS and Maks to do?

Who knew Dancing with the Stars contestant Lance Bass who is gay would cause a stir with his performance kiss of star partner Lacey Schwimmer? The music choice of Katy Perry’s I Kissed a Girl is stirring the pot even more.
Quite a few comments about this video are being posted on my YouTube video of this performance.
I kissed a girl and I liked it
The taste of her cherry chapstick
I kissed a girl just to try it
I hope my boyfriend don’t mind it
It felt so wrong
It felt so right
Don’t mean I’m in love tonight
I kissed a girl and I liked it
I liked it
