A little late to the game on getting some LEGO minifigures based on the upcoming LEGO movie. Fortunately, the Ala Moana LEGO Store opened a fresh box before I made my purely random picks.

Out of five pulls, I have Wiley Fusebot, Larry the Barista, and Hard Hat Emmet (not pictured).
I have two unopened packs but I think they are Where Are My Pants Guy and Scribble-Face Bad Cop (could be another Emmet). I’m liking all the zombies, Taco Tuesday Man, and Panda Guy.
Is this the latest tidbit of information unearthed by the PRISM program? Is this one of the secrets Eric Snowden stumbled across and knew it had to be made public? Of course, we’re talking about the existence of the uber secret 2014 calendar for Club 939.
Are these discoveries truth or fiction? Only one way to find out. Head on over to the club on January 8, 2014 and get your calendar signed by the ladies.
The future home of Peet’s Coffee in Kailua is built. It’s almost time.

And the harvest has ended. In August of 2006, a Great Harvest Bakery location opened in the Enchanted Lakes Shopping Center. At the end of 2013, this Great Harvest has closed its doors.

For seven years, this storefront sold freshly baked loaves, muffins, scones, and cookies and gave out seemingly unlimited tasting samples. Soon to fill this void is Z’s Bakery and Deli. Thanks for the years of goodies, Great Harvest!

From Holiday Mart to Daiei to Don Quijote and now razed to rubble, the former Don Quijote location in Kailua is now completely downed. Work continues to eventually turn this locale into a Target.

The unthinkable is approaching in 2014. Gilly Hicks is closing its doors, and not just the Ala Moana location, but all its stores. While the GH line of intimates will live on virtually, the physical stores will be extinct.
It was a short run for Gilly Hicks in Hawaii with a dramatic opening in 2012. Last Christmas, the store seemingly toned it down. Even though, the store is still young and full of vitality, apparently it couldn’t compete against the “jugs of nought” known as Victoria’s Secrets. Aren’t you going to miss the distinct scent of Gilly Hicks that permeates that wing of Ala Moana?
Time’s about up as Christmas is fast approaching, and desperation is setting in for last minute gifts. These Justice League headphones featuring either Batman or Superman are fun and functional.
Physically fit Star Wars fanatics may like their own skin tight costumes. You too could be Chewie, Boba, or Darth (Vader or Maul).
Lastly, a yodeling pickle will sure to be a surprise gift. A yodeling pickle? Yup, a yodelling pickle. Why? I don’t know, but Amazon sells this, and it rates at 4 stars after 241 ratings. It’s just one of those gifts that will amaze its recipient.
In 2014, Toyota will discontinue its FJ Cruiser line, making one last limited edition model called the Trail Teams Ultimate Edition Cruiser. After that, you won’t see any of these SUV/Jeep-looking vehicles from Toyota. That’s an instant collectible right there with only 2500 Trail Team Ultimate Editions manufactured.
Naughty or nice, this FJ Cruiser is for you!
Gifts for a techie? How about the Nest Protect smoke detector? The next generation detector that’s smarter, connects to a smart device, and simply makes more sense.
Not looking for a smart smoke detector? How about a smart watch like the popular Pebble? I helped kickstart this project and love the utility of this evolving device. It’s a great second screen that’s getting better and better.
Still too technologically mundane? Then try to get ahold of Starpath. Apply this luminous material to your driveway, and you’ll have a spectacle of science.
