Say what? That Anthem store in Pearlridge Phase 1 Uptown is actually a Shoe Palace in disguise?

The employees wear the SP uniform and all plastic bags have the SP branding. But… this location gets the hype releases like the recent Yeezy Clays although only one full size run. And sadly, this shoe guy was one person too late to buy the last Clay. 🙁
Walked into the store and say that Yeezy 350 box and asked if had any more. That was the last one being bought.
So my household is paying tribute to the end of The Game of Thrones, a Song of Ice and Fire, and I mean that literally. Before the last season of GoT airs, my home has no ice or fire. My ice maker isn’t working and now the pilot light in my water heater is out.
I have no ice and fire, and soon enough, I will not have A Song of Ice and Fire.
So on Footlocker.com, I did a search for the terms “jordan mid” and got these results. I don’t get it.

I supposed Jordan is close to “Juicy?”
Since 2017, our Samsung french door refrigerator, model RF28K9380SR, has been working well. And then there’s now where our ice maker don’t make ice. Taking out the ice bin, you can see that the ice maker is frozen over (does this prelude a White Walker victory in Game of Thrones?).

Looking online, Samsung refrigerators are known to have issues with their ice makers. Sadly, I couldn’t find an easy fix for our model. There’s no force defrost mode like other models and the suggestion of turning off the ice maker to supposedly engage the defroster did nothing. Luckily, we purchased an extended warranty from Home Depot, and checking my online records, the make, model, and warranty info was already recorded. So should be easy, right?
Well, I called Home Depot customer support and was routed to Asurion for the warranty protection plan. I don’t want to retell the entire story since it still gets me upset, but essentially, the company wanted proof that I actually bough an extended warranty. Never mind that the purchase info and warrantly plan was already recorded on their web site. I needed to submit the actual purchase receipt from 2017. So I downloaded the files that were already saved online and submitted an invoice showing a line item for the protection plan.
I called back and was told that I was still missing verification information for the warranty. The company needed an actual receipt, so I downloaded the other attachment saved on their system and submitted that via email. Then I called back yet again although the process is to wait two business days for their review team to look over my submission. I called back for the fourth time in two hours for an update, and fortunately, my warrany was validated, and my service request was processed.
Asurion then scheduled a service call for the very next day, but… the local repair shop did not get this appointment until today. So there was no way they could make it out today to take a look.
Is it too much to ask for my freakin’ ice?!?
Update 2022: There is a force defrost for these types of Samsung four-door refrigerators.
Was it the macOS 10.14.4 update that has made password security much tougher for the end user? Whenever Safari’s autofill attempts to fill out a form, I’m not prompted to provide a fingerprint or enter a password. Previously, the autofill did its magic.
From a security standpoint, this is probably better, but when you’re in a time crunch trying to cop kicks, this delay is deadly. Seemingly I can’t quickly log into PayPal OneTouch without having to authorize this access. To make this worse, PayPal and Safari has failed authentication many times today showing a white screen and not actually finishing the transaction.
A bug or a ploy to further the adoption and use of Apple Pay??
Sorry, the site had been offline due to a cache misconfiguration. Now back online!
Did you see that Nordstrom “restocked” the Air Max 90 Mars Landing shoes that recently released? I’m guessing this was more returns rather than a restock, but for a short while, a few (small) sizes were readily available for purchase.
I’m kinda glad I passed on these sneakers. Althought they have a cool backstory and look interesting, the value in these have not been too good.
What a crazy morning going for the last Yeezy 350 regional drop, the Clays. I gotta hand it to Adidas for making this an equitable, attainable drop for the masses. Yeah, the release was more than four hours ago, and Adidas finally sold out, so there was lots of time (and opportunity) to snag a pair. Sure, the small and big sizes went first, but if you were fortunate to make it through the Waiting Room early enough, you could have gotten pretty much any size as sizes kept coming back in stock.
Scary moment before the drop as it looked like I was banned from the Adidas site. Closing all browsers and restarting my Mac luckily remedied this issue. Then the waiting began.
Ding ding! That Adidas bell notification has to be one of the simplest and most useful feature ever.

I got in about 45 minutes after launch and had a size 6 in my cart. Sadly, due to payment lag and slowdowns, I could not check out during my session time and was put back into the waiting room. About one hour later, I finally escaped the waiting room, but by then, only common sizes remained. So I grabbed a personal pair just in case.
Hours later, I still couldn’t get back to purchasing as sizes gradually went out of stock.

And now the Clay drop is officially over at Adidas.com.

Yeezys have been launching fast and furious throughout March. With a release set for each week, besides the grounded Geodes, Yeezy 350s have been filling up the calendar.

First up were the Asian region Hyperspaces available on Adidas Japan and Yeezy Supply Asia. Both sites were easy to get to, but the language barrier was a problem, but small in comparison to needing a physical address in Asia to ship to. Luckily, Wayne’s World pulled through!
On March 16, it was Europe’s turn with the True Form. These were relatively easier to get with a mulitude of vendors carrying the shoe, many of them offering international shipping. No, it wasn’t simple to get the True Forms, but if you endured, you would have landed a pair (or two). Thanks to Size? for the oddly-timed restock!
Lastly, the delayed Clay model finally releases in North and South America on March 30. Seems like the usual suspects will be stocking this shoe which should sell well unlike the Geodes. Of course, I’ll try for the Clays along with everyone else. Hopefully, the Adidas Waiting Room will be good to me.
I don’t know which colorway is the best of the three. Initially, I thought the Hyperspace was safe but looks kinda like the Statics. Now the True Forms are calling with their Beluga-like motif but with those salmon hits of color. Then there’s the Clays which look totally different than any other Yeezys. Need an in-hand look before making a decision.
Wait, is there really a decision to be made?!?

Nike has since launched a larger release of the Air Foamposite One Tiger Stripes, but I bombed on getting any more pairs. While I’ve never owned a pair of Foams before, I don’t think I’ll start with these Memphis Tigers-themed ones. Now that I think about it, this is one of the few Penny models I haven’t owned.
Totally didn’t expect how hard it would be, but I just couldn’t find a pair of Nike SB Blazers in collaboration with Frog Skateboards. Targeted at skaters, most inventory accordingly released in skate shops, and many of them didn’t sell online. The few with an online store were wiped out quick.
Hoping these are released in the near future. So different from the typical Nike aesthetic.
