Toyota Taking a Page From Kanye and Jay-Z’s Playbook?
Toyota has taken a bashing in the news recently with their massive recalls of 8.5 million vehicles. But amidst all the negative publicity, have you simply noticed how much Toyota has been in the news. Sure, it is for all the wrong reasons ala Kanye West and Taylor Swift, but you know, there may be some mad genius behind the timing of all of this.
Announce the recalls around the time of the Superbowl when commercials and ads get as much attention as the game itself? Hmmm… Then you see and read all those announcements on how Toyota is going to address and fix the problems. On the news, you’ll see how Toyota dealerships are staying open later to fix affected vehicles. Then you see this new commercial on television, admitting Toyota’s errors and reaffirming their commitment to safety. Like Kanye at the time, all you see and hear about is Toyota.
Of course, other car companies have an opportunity for more sales, but do you think they are going to risk disparaging Toyota’s design flaws? No way; it’s too risky. In the future, these other competitors could very well have issues with their designs, so they can’t afford to tout superior designs just in case. That fall would be too severe.
So while Toyota is in for a rough ride in the near future, its long term outlook could be very bright from this moment of darkness.
Grammy Award for Best Kicks?
If the Grammy Awards recognized the best kicks in a musical performance then the award would have definitely gone to Eminem and Lil Wayne. During their Grammy night performance of Drake’s Forever, Eminem rapped with what looked like Nike Air Max 90s while Lil Wayne rocked the distinctive Air Jordan 11, Space Jam editions.
And yes, Lil Wayne matched his kicks with the lyrics of Forever.
Poor Ole Beaker
I love the non-understandable ramblings of the Muppets’ Beaker. This lab tech always cracks me up. Watch as he tries to sing the blues online.

Already?! Canon Rebel T2i DSLR
I just got my Canon Rebel T1i DSLR camera and already it’s obsolete with the forthcoming T2i. Amazon is taking preorders for this “sister” camera. Who are we kidding? The T2i will replace the T1i in the Canon DSLR lineup.

Strangely Fascinated by Scott Fujita
Whoa, double take. The New Orleans Saints have a linebacker named Scott Fujita? That’s an Asian brother of another color. He got the name, Fujita. But blonde hair? And kids with even blonder hair? That ain’t no Fujita.
Ah I get it. Adopted son. Grandmother in a WWII internment camp. Grandfather fighting with the 442nd. Named the Saints’ Man of the Year and now Superbowl champion. Strangely fascinating.

Superbowl 44 Party for the Non-Fans
What does a Superbowl party look like for non-football fans? It kinda looks like this…
Eat, keep the kids entertained, eat, watch the commercials, eat, talk about Pink’s Grammy performance, cheer on the underdog. Geaux Saints!
