On Friday, Apple’s stock surged 12%, valuing the company at $72.13B. At the same time, the value of Dell was $71.97B.
Steve Jobs wrote an email to Apple employees that said:
Team, it turned out that Michael Dell wasn’t perfect at predicting the future. Based on today’s stock market close, Apple is worth more than Dell. Stocks go up and down, and things may be different tomorrow, but I thought it was worth a moment of reflection today. Steve.

I picked up a copy of iLife 06 from the Ala Moana Apple Store and am building a site on .Mac. I’ve only played around with it for a couple of hours so I’m no expert, but I did make some observations:

Hot water. Never knew how important it was and how hard it is to find. Heating up milk or preparing baby formula? Need the hot water. Pay for a cup of hot water? Youch!
But there’s Starbucks. Lots of hot beverages there. Lots of Starbucks springing up all over the place. Must be a good place to find hot water. Free? Alright. Tall, Grande, or Venti? Even better. Warm or piping hot? Unreal.
So pop your Clomids, use your Woman C ovulation thermometer and DIY Male Fertility Kit, and get your groove on cause Starbucks will be there when you need hot water for your child.
I was watching the Tyra Banks show (really), and Pimp Your Ride host, Xzibit, was on. He was talking about his kicks he’s designing for Dada shoes. The name of the shoes? Pimp Your Kicks.
No thanks, I’ll pass.

Even though the Macworld Expo is over, there continues to be rumors about potential future Apple products, namely an Apple branded cell phone or maybe a Mobile Virtual Network Operators (MVNO) cell service. Apple already owns the domain name iphone.org (redirects to Apple.com) and has recently filed a trademark for the phrase “Mobile Me.”
So we know actors from the TV show Lost like to speed in Hawaii. Cynthia Watros who was charged with a DUI lost her driver’s license yesterday in court. Her DUI cohort, Mayte “Michelle” Rodriguez, has her trial scheduled for March.
If you take TheBus enough, maybe you’ll see them going to a shoot. They might as well buy $40 monthly bus passes.
Oh yeah, Nicole “Evangeline” Lilly may not be a speedster, but she sure doesn’t know how to stop.

Even with the increased performance, the new MacBook Pro has some unresolved shortcomings compared to a PowerBook G4. Henry Norr got a chance to look at the new MacBook Pro and made some observations that may scare people away.
Do I need a MacBook Pro? Maybe. Do I want a MacBook Pro? Sure.

Read Apple’s iWeb Promises Blogs for All. Sounds like customization of iWeb’s products is possible. Best if you have a .Mac account to publish your iWeb site but not absolutely necessary.

Recently, Coffee Bean & Tea had coupons in Midweek promoting their new Kailua store. Pretty good coupons, one for every week of January. Then, in the mail came a Starbucks buy one, get one free coupon for the Kailua location only. Coffee love or competition?
Starbucks rarely has these types of promotions. I think Starbucks is defending its Kailua turf and is trying to crush the Coffee Bean. There are many articles about Starbucks cannibalizing its own sales to retain its coffee stronghold.
And oh yeah, Kailua is getting another Starbucks, less than one mile from pulpconnection central.
While I like ecto and use it to create these Blogger posts, it does have its idiosyncrasies which get annoying. Stuff like messing up ordered and unordered lists and adding extra linefeeds. I wanted to give MarsEdit a try, especially since they have a new version out. Initially, MarsEdit had issues with Blogger as well, but it looks like the new version has taken care of that.
Now Apple has released iWeb and Karelia has their Sandvox beta out. What to do? Plus, I want to start categorizing posts which is not available in Blogger. Switch to WordPress?
