Holiday Gift Guide 2019 BTS FILA Shoes
While I personally don’t know enough about the K-pop band BTS, I know their legions of fans aka ARMY (Adorable Representative MC for Youth) are fanatics. So getting a gift for a BTS ARMY member may be a challenge since she probably already has any and all BTS merch. Instead get a head start on the wave and gift a pair of FILA shoes. FILA? Yep, RM, Suga, Jimin, V, Jungkook, J-Hope, and Jin will be repping FILA as the company’s new brand ambassadors.
I know for a fact that you can head to your local Nordstrom Rack and load up on FILAs of  a variety of styles. These, of course, are not BTS-branded, but they are FILA on the cheap. Now, I hope this BTS x FILA collaboration will bring new shoe silhouettes, but I can easily see the Disruptor making a huge comeback for the female fans. However, I can’t see the dudes rocking the Disruptors. Rather, I see the male ARMY members paying homage to Grant Hill with the 96.
Holiday Gift Guide 2019 Epic Flex Jeans
What gift do you get your kicks-lovin’ dad you ask? How about some jeans? Too boring? Then how about epic jeans?
Still not enough? Well, if your dad cooks the kicks and cops the heat then he must have shoes to flex. So of course, the jeans need to represent the ‘fit, and Hollister has just the right jeans to gift – the Epic Flex Dad Jean. I kid you not.

Nike Got You
Nike, the company, is simply masterful. They keep you on your toes, and when you think you got it figured out, Nike throws you off-balance once again. But it’s so fun!
Today, November 11, 2019, is yet another example of Nike’s mastery. Sure the Clot Air Force 1 dropped as announced, and Nikeplus Member Day kicked off. But also marking Veterans Day in the US and Singles’ Day in China and Pepero Day in South Korea, you might have guessed that Nike would have another surprise coming for the wary consumers. Could it be the launch of the Clot clothing line?
Nope, it was more obvoius than that, and Nike had told us one week ago with Nike News announcing the Kyrie 6 Preheat collection based on Kyrie’s connection to the number 11. So at 2pm HST (not 11 o’clock in any US timezone), it shouldn’t have been too surprising when the Kyrie 6 Unite the World shock dropped.
Scrambling to launch the SNKRS app after getting a notification, you may have sworn off Nike for this unexpected but expected surprise. Then became giddy when you saw the infamous Got’em screen.
But really, we all know what’s going on. While you may have “got’em” this time, Nike got you all the way.
Holiday Gift Guide 2019 Kicks Bricks
In the world of kicks, the term “brick” is probably one of the worst terms you can hear next to OOS (out of stock). But this holiday season, this set of kicks bricks will make a fun, alternative gift. If you missed a coveted shoe that went OOS, now you can make your own with these Netmagnetism bricks.
I don’t think these are official LEGO bricks but instead similar plastic bricks, but in any case, making your own Air Jordan must be fun.
Baseballism Alpha Huarache Flag Man Turf 2
The baseball season may be done, but Baseballism’s collaboration with Nike is just starting. Consider this a very, very strong start – Alpha Huarache Flag Man Turf 2.
Premium materials, leather from baseball gloves, and nice accents all around. Only 300 of these made as well. Moreover, for us Hawaii locals, there are ties to Hawaii since Baseballism co-founder, Travis Chock, is a Punahou graduate. Check out this KHON news segment for the highlights.
Update 10/31/2019. I received an email from customercare@footaction.com stating:
Thank you for your recent order. We regret to inform you we were unable to fulfill some or all items from your recent order number ##### due to lack of product availability.
So at least Footaction told me what I had already found out.
Update 11/1/2019. Got another email from the Team at Footaction. This one is a little more sincere and offers $15 off an online order (some exclusions apply).
But really, how do I use this discount if my orders to Hawaii keep getting cancelled? And I don’t really believe the shoes sold out for my order. I belive the SBB3 did sell out, but for my order (and other HI/AK orders), FA’s warehouse system simply couldn’t ship to these states.
Footaction Dislikes Hawaii
What else can I say from my recent experiences other than Footaction hates dislikes Hawaii. My latest issue is the cancellation of the Air Jordan 1 Shattered Backboard 3.0. Hold your opinions about the shoe’s appearance, and just focus on the fact that I successfully ordered the shoe on release day and paid the shipping surcharge to Hawaii. I checked back today and saw the inevitable.
I mean I knew I was taking a chance ordering from Footaction since none of my orders have ever shipped. I just keep hoping that one day they get it right. I mean they are part of the Footsites family (aka Foot Locker, Champs, Eastbay, etc.) and all the other stores can ship to Hawaii, so it’s really odd why FA fails time and time again.
For my satin Jordan cancellation, I did receive a call from a Footaction rep who went into great detail about their warehousing system and online orders and how the the overloaded ordering system tries to fulfill orders. Yeah, I get it, and it makes sense, but in the end, it’s still a failure. That false hope and promise is probably the worst part. Maybe this time, they’ll ship. Maybe this time, the correct warehouse has it in stock. Maybe this time, they fixed the ordering system. Maybe, maybe… no, canceled yet again.
For this cancellation, I didn’t call to complain nor did I receive any kind of notification. I did tweet them, continuing our conversation from the last time. But I do believe it would be best if Footaction simply stated they do NOT ship to Hawaii (or Alaska). Sure, that admits preference to the 48 contiguous states, but I mean really that is the truth based upon personal experiences – Footaction dislikes Hawaii.
IBSFH Footaction Online
Imagine being a shoe fiend in Hawaii (IBSFH), successfully ordering a hyped shoe on Footaction.com, only to have it cancelled. The shoe, the Air Jordan 1 Shattered Backboard 3.0 in this case, is secured right? Well, from my personal experience, NO!
All my past orders with FA have ALL been cancelled. Yes, all of them. Granted, I only go for the sought after shoes on Footaction, so experiences may differ with general release sneakers. My most recent Footaction cancellation was the AJ1 Women’s Satin. But I think I have another cancellation coming up with the SBB3.
After an email confirming my order, I got the first warning signal a few hours later with a follow up email that said this:
It’s taking a bit longer to complete your order. We’re trying to track down your item.
Hang tight and we’ll let you know when we have some news. Don’t worry, we haven’t charged your method of payment yet.
Yeah… my SBB3 order is a goner, and I think I’ll get official word tomorrow. It’ll go something like this:
Thank you for your recent order. I am sorry, but one or more of your items are shipping from an alternate location and cannot be shipped outside of the 48 contiguous United States. Therefore, we are unable to complete the order.
Yes, technically Footaction does ship to all states within the US, but Hawaii and Alaska has to pay a little more as seen on this cost chart.
The main takeaway is that Footaction says they ship to Hawaii. But this has never happened to any of my orders to date.
So imagine being a shoe fiend in Hawaii and only getting cancelled orders from Footaction online.
Holiday Gift Guide 2019 Travis Scott AJ6
Okay, really, this one isn’t just for the holidays. Getting a pair of Travis Scott Air Jordans isn’t great just during the holidays, they’re great at any time given you can actually get a pair. The latest Travis Scott variation took hold of the Air Jordan 6, and this pocketed model sold out instantly on Travis’ online store and SNKRS.
But…
Travis’ online store only sold sizes 10.5 and above. What happened to the smaller sizes (which were available on SNKRS)? My theory is that they are being held in reserve for a Houston milestone. As a Houston native, Travis likes to add some hometown significance to his sneaker drops. And since the Houston Astros are now going to the MLB World Series, Houston has another shot at something big. If all goes well for the ‘Stros, the World Series could be over on Saturday, October 26, 2019. So I’d ready that day in case if the Travis Scott Air Jordan 6 shock drop after an Astros sweep. If not, game 5 is on Sunday, Oct 27, game 6 on Tuesday, Oct 29, and game 7 on Wednesday, Oct 30.

I am not of the Spongebob era, but there are many current hoopster who are. And that is why Nike’s recent Spongebob collection sold out fast and the very recent restock even faster. So if you didn’t cop any of these to give as a gift, you have one last chance coming up this week. Holiday Gift Guide 2019 Wizenard Corollary
“A book? A book?!” If that’s the response you got after gifting my first recommendation of the Wizenard Series: Training Camp then here’s the corollary. Tell the gift recipient that after the book is done, then these will magically appear.
