Stolen Army Laptops?

Nike Needs to Hyperstrike Retro Air Garnett IIIs
Even though now champion Kevin Garnett is no longer signed with Nike, the Swoosh machine needs to hyperstrike retro Air Garnett IIIs right now to commemorate the Celtics victory.
Of course, these popular kicks back in the day need to be remixed with Celtic shamrock green and white. Those would be hot!
Father’s Day 2008
This past Father’s Day featured swimming at the recently opened Mililani rec center and a trip to a very crowded Cold Stone featuring a 2-for-1 special. Here’s a picture of a shorter line that was out the doorway.
The Celtics Ubuntu-ed the Lakers
Congrats to the Celtics for winning their 17th NBA title on the backs of Paul Pierce, Ray Allen, and Kevin Garnett.
How’d they win, beating out Kobe and the Lakers? Ubuntu.

Joined FriendFeed
Joined another social tool, FriendFeed, mainly to check it out. FriendFeed can track all your activity on other social networks like Twitter, GoogleTalk, Digg, StumbleUpon, del.icio.us, YouTube, Flickr, Pownce, and a bunch more. So with FriendFeed, you can see the online activity of your friends.

The Boldly Dedicated
On my way to work, I’ve seen this landscaper/gardener guy doing his thing in the morning. He’s an older guy who is a boldly dedicated worker, especially with his leaf blower. To collect up all the fallen leaves, he goes out on a busy road to blow the debris in to a nice big pile. And I mean, he goes out on the road, walking past halfway of the lane and often times blocking oncoming traffic.
He doesn’t scurry out of the way either. He keeps blowing the leaves from the road towards the sidewalk as the cars backup. How can you fault such dedication!
Text in the Radio Airwaves
Not sure when this started, but I just noticed that our car radio is now showing text information about the song playing and the music station. I usually listen to my iPod or CDs during drives so I was surprised to see text other than the station’s frequency displayed on the radio display.
This is kind of useful if I want to know the name of the song so I can buy it via iTunes, but the scrolling of the text is kinda slow which is a small danger when driving and taking your eyes off the road.
Pulpconnection Money Makers
Though I am far from rolling in the dough and becoming a six-figure incoming blogger, I have managed to squeeze some dollars out of Pulpconnection through advertising and affiliate programs. Here’s my list with short rundowns.
Google AdSense. After years of displaying Google ads, I finally got $100 minimum to warrant a check. While I do play around with locations of ads, I don’t really track trends coinciding ad locations with earnings. I mostly set Google Ads on cruise control and get what I can get.
Amazon Affiliate. The Amazon Affiliate program has a lot of money making potential… if you have Amazon shoppers visit your site. As an affiliate, you make money when someone buys an Amazon item you promoted. If you promote expensive items, then you can rack up earnings quickly. Amazon earning are not consistent like Google AdSense and come in spurts. The more items you sell, the higher your return referral fee. Currently, I’m still at the starting 4% referral rate, closing in on enough sales to get 6%.
In total, I’ve made $160 as an Amazon Affiliate with popular sales going to the Zojirushi EC-DAC50 Zutto 5-Cup Drip Coffeemaker
Linkshare. Linkshare is the service handling affiliates for iTunes. I’m a member of iTunes and Footlocker, but there are many other programs (aka vendors and companies) you can apply for. I’ve sold over 100 items through Linkshare, all via iTunes sales. But do the math. At a buck a song, 5% commission on 100 songs doesn’t equate to much as seen in my Linkshare checks.
Text Link Ads. My newest money maker is Text Link Ads which took some time to get membership in. I had heard of TLA awhile back, submitted for a publisher account, and actually forgot about it. To be a TLA member, your blog needs a high enough rating on Alexa and somewhere along the way Pulpconnection met the criteria. Now, TLA could be the most consistent revenue generator with projected monthly earnings around $28.
So there you have it – how I’m on my way to financial independence due to blogging. 😉 Yeah, I’ll take whatever I can get, and it’s been a long road just to get to this point. Maybe one day, my earnings can actually cover all my Internet hosting bills.
