Can You Hear the Kids of Hawaii Squealing?
If kids (and adults) spontaneously start squealing and acting all giddy, this could be why.
next show is Hawaii!!! But until then it is time to take some time off and relax. VACATION!!!!!!

Katy Perry makes an appearance on Sesame Street and sings a Hot and Cold duet with Elmo.
Update: Well, well, well, I guess Katy’s clothes was a little too hot for Sesame Street since they’ve officially pulled the video.
So what’d you think of the remade, rebooted, remixed Hawaii Five-O? Is it still a classic? Only time will tell, but the premiere episode definitely was fun!
Some thoughts and wonderings.
Hawaii is well armed and seedyI never knew how serious and epidemic the criminal element was in Hawaii. Even Governor Lingle stand-in was fed up and wanted the criminal SOBs off her island. I mean where ever you went the public was armed and ready for a shootout. And what timing for Aloun farms and the forced labor workforce to coincide with the H5O subplot of human exporting. Who watching thought about the pumpkin patch when the cargo load of imported Asians was discovered?
I thought Five-O did an excellent job portraying the visual beauty of the islands. Every lead-in was a scenic sight to see. Even tents on beach got airtime. But I wonder why locations like Kukui High School had to be made up? Why not use real location names?
Say what? Okay, so I’m a fake Hawaiian akin to imitation crab, but I’ve never heard “bird” in pidgin. I need to update my Hawaiian slang list with all the gems spoken by the Five-O cast.
So yeah, even with its imperfections, Hawaii Five-O is still fun, and I’ll be sticking around for more episodes.
If you missed the premiere episode, you can now view it online at CBS, and here’s the trailer along with the iconic theme song.
More from Five-O on their Hawaii Five-O blog.
Ooops, sorry about that. Pulpconnection was beaten civilly (I think) by a Civil Beat tweet. There was a big spike in server resources (see that blue and red lines climb?) that made this site unresponsive.
Rebooted and now back online (kinda sorta). #becivil!
Gotta do a flight check on my Tivo with a bunch of shows taking off this week.
Let’s see, the conclusion of Season 1 of The Gates should have recorded on Sunday. It ain’t a bad show, kinda a poor man’s Underworld but in a modern context where you’re the unusual one if you’re not a mythical creature.
For Monday, Hawaii Five-O premieres (in HD!!) along with Season 11 of Dancing with the Stars (also in HD!!).
Tuesday showcases Glee and even more DWTS.
On Wednesday, the behind-the-scenes Top Chef episode is followed by Top Chef: Just Desserts.
Hawaii’s Andy South and Ivy Higa continue their Project Runway journey on Thursday, and Mililani’s Maggie Q takes on the Division on Nikita. Grey’s Anatomy kicks off after a monstrous season finale.
Then it’s Friday and the weekend when I can watch all these hours of great television. Tivo, don’t fail me now!
What was that laugh I heard on Island 98.5 this morning? Try sample (especially the end of the audio clip)!
[audio:https://www.pulpconnection.net/audio/island985.mp3]Could it be the moratorium against KreyZ Oshiro is over, and he (and his distinctive laugh) is back on the airwaves?
A great infographic compiling the history of WordPress along with stats and interesting tidbits.
Thanks to Holy Kaw!
How would entering and winning a contest to have breakfast with alt rock band Weezer look like via a social graph? Let’s take a peek at JessicaShig’s recent adventure!
First the contest announcement and chatter on Twitter (in chronological order).
Then to Facebook after being picked as a winner.
Here’s the full picture of @jessicashig and @weezer.
And of course, the obligatory fangirl flirtatious tweet! Seriously, saying “love, love,” “unspoken,” and “where’s my sex” is asking for a secret rendezvous! 😉
Congrats to JessicaShig for cashing in on social media to meet Weezer and letting her fans follow along this adventure. And for the music lovers, be sure to check out Jessica’s suggestions of Unspoken, Where’s My Sex, and Hang On.
Remember that spike in Pulpconnection visits and views checking out the buttery sweetness of Starbuck’s new Toffee Mocha? Can you believe the cause of this was AOL? Yes, that oldie but goodie AOL. The one who was sending you countless CDs in the mail just a few years ago.
Even now, if you go to search.aol.com and look for “starbucks toffee mocha,” you’ll see something like this (well, except for the Yay!).
I still believe this is true even though Apple issued a statement saying otherwise. Seemingly someone that looked like Steve Jobs tried to carry ninja shuriken on board an aircraft.
I can see Steveo doing this and explaining to the guards that it wouldn’t make sense to hijack his own plane (using the shuriken). Steve is a ninja!
You know you’re not supposed to disconnect an iPod or iPhone without ejecting it first right? You can get away with it many times, but sometimes, doing this misdeed can bite you like it did me. My trusty fat Nano was charging up, and I thought I had ejected it so I disconnected the dock cable.
Then I saw the Mac OS X warning message about improperly removing a disk. Whoops. No problem I though, I’ll just reconnect, and things will be fine. Not so much this time. The Nano still works but wasn’t recognized by iTunes. iTunes wanted me to restore the Nano to factory defaults. So I did.
I had to repick my music playlists, movies, etc., but now, the Nano keeps restarting itself when trying to apply the settings. 🙁
So both you and I thought racy was hot. It is… but not as hot as buttery sweetness!
Maybe it’s the hot weather, and people want something cool to drink, but I just don’t why this simple post about Starbucks new (and delicious) Toffee Mocha is blowing up right now. On a Saturday too (which are typically slow bloggy days). Maybe I’ll go out and get myself a Toffee Mocha or perhaps a SBUX PSL.
