Skechers Is on a Run

Don’t look now Nike, but Skechers is on a run. “Skechers is the hottest athletic shoe brand in the market,” says sneakernomist Matt Powell. Meb Keflezighi won the 2014 Boston Marathon while wearing Skechers GoMeb Speed 2, and Skechers moved up a notch in the kicks market, overtaking New Balance at the number five spot.
But when Nike has a dominating hold at number 1 with 59% and Adidas is in second place with a 10% share, fifth place is well, not first place.
Star Wars Gets Happy
Pharrell Williams’ Happy is truly universal even swaying the Force of the Star Wars characters.
I didn’t think the Sand People were capable of being happy.
Needed Threadless Type Tees in 2009
Where, oh, where was Threadless Type Tees back in 2009 when I really needed this service? Make your own custom printed tee using an iPhone app. Yes, I definitely could have used this app to capture the discourse with @ryankanno immortalized on Twitter.
Heck, even this convo could have been lost over the years if not for my tinkering with the Twitter Tools plugin. Thank goodness for a weekly Twitter update published by Twitter Tools that captured these tweets.
@ryankanno: I can’t wait to go home and beat some Bald Bull!
@geewhy: So you manscape then?
A shirt would be classic and would have validated this moment in time.

Starbucks Brezza Blend – Bright & Herbal
Starbucks latest coffee for the upcoming summer is out, and you can get the Brezza Blend in store or ordered online. Here’s how Starbucks describes the Brezza Blend:

Starbucks Brezza Blend is perfect served iced for unhurried, lasting summer days, and it pairs well with lemon, orange, caramel, and golden raisins.
With sweet lemony notes and a brief acidity, this coffee is a good companion for the first warm day of summer.
Since Starbucks was brewing the Brezza, I had to give it a shot. Lemony and acidic? Yep. Pairs well with golden raisins? Sure, why not. A great companion. Um, okay…
Is it only me or does the bright and herbal Brezza Blend remind you of V. Stiviano?

Because Oprah
On Tuesday, I walked into Starbucks and was greeted by the likeness of the Oprah Winfrey.

Only the Oprah isn’t partnering with Starbucks for coffee, instead the Oprah has her own chai tea line with Starbucks’ Teavana. You can get the Oprah chai tea at Starbucks in either a hot or iced form.

Different sets are available for purchase to take the Oprah home with you.

Go ahead and infuse some rooibos to steep your soul.

While I haven’t yet tasted the Oprah Chai, I will because Oprah.
The Return of Two Voice Tuesday?
Mea culpa if this is old news, but when did Hammertime on KRTR 96.3 revive the famous Two Voice Tuesday? Have I somehow been missing out all this time listening to Gregg Hammer combine two vocal caricatures? Here are a few clips from today’s zaniness.
All-Asian Wayne Anzaki mixed with Austrian-American Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Perhaps a little controversial, but he was asked and Mr. Hammer produced, mixing Helen Keller and Bubba Smith. Don’t mind the Harley revving its engine in the background

Say what? I can’t understand what “Oprah Chai” is saying. Maybe Oprah Winfrey and local chef Chai Chaowasaree can translate.

And what’s with my SoundCloud images for these audio clips? Just playing around with SoundCloud’s integration with Instagram and using some of my recent shots.

Expanding Outbrain’s Reach

Although I think I already saw a precursor of what’s to come. Remember when I compared Outbrain, the Similar Posts plugin, and JetPack Related Posts? Outbrain had a penchant for recommending off-the-wall suggestions, typically dealing with Club 939. So just a warning that there may be babes ahead.
What’s Old Is New Again

Structurally, things look the same although the drink pickup counter is nearer the middle, no longer at the end by the water pipe. Also, the pickup counter is flanked on each side by espresso machines (sadly not Clovers).
I can’t recall if the original layout had two espresso makers. If there were, the two machines were side by side, crowding the baristas. This new layout potentially provides a balanced piston action to fire out customer drinks. Hopefully this means shorter wait times in this popular pit stop.
Starbucks in Ala Moana is back at full strength with two locales at Hawaii’s largest shopping mall.
Now about the aesthetic redesign, here’s one opinion of the old but new look…
Taking a Pepsi Bath
Why take a bath in Pepsi, I don’t know. But listen to the fizzing carbonation and watch the look of discomfort on the guy.
